What's your ideal park ski waist width?
It’s personal preference, but if your just starting park I think a safe bet would be from 86-96 and then after you ride for a few seasons you’ll know what you want. I personally prefer a 100< ski
I dont have one. I enjoy variety. Ive skied every width in the park from the upper 70s to the lower 110s and enjoyed them all for different reasons.
I've been on 101's lately and they've worked surprisingly well
Hunnit's the sweet spot for damn near anything unless you wanna straight ice skate
36-24-36.............A Brick House!
So wide. Is there not ice where you guys are? Why do you hate quick edge to edge times?
Always skied around 90mm waist in the park. I'd love to try something around 100ish mm
I'm from california where snow is heavy as shit... If you wanna actually be able to ski on a powder day you gotta have 110+
Anything over 100 tbh. Last couple of years I’ve been skiing park on a pair of moments deathwishes which were 112 underfoot and they were fun although a bit stiff. this year I’m on 98 underfoot moment frankenskis for the park and although they’re a bit narrow compared to what I’m used too I’m sure the 2 mm won’t be huge and all around I’m hyped to try them.
Love a good midfat park ski. 100-110 is delicious. Have also skied k2 pettitors with a 120 waist in park. Did work but is more of an effort
IDK, but these guys seem okay with wide waist in terrain park. 116's and they are nuts!
BungHole.Always skied around 90mm waist in the park. I'd love to try something around 100ish mm
Last season I made the switch from 88 to 98 and it was definitely the right call. Fatter skis are the way to go.
for your 'wider is better' folks - what is it that you like about the wider ski while shredding park? my widest park ski is 89 under foot and the rest are in that same 85-89 range. i like the light weight, quick edge-to-edge transfer, and generally fast/snappy attitude. i did once hit a rail on some 105 under footers and it worked just fine but the skis are much more work to move around on groomers compared to the skinnies. i have many (many) pairs of skis so maybe if i only had one pair i would compromise towards the 100mm range in order to have a more versatile option.
Fat skis are so much fun to ski in the park , the butters and rails just feel like they hit different on 100+ waist skis .
The only skis I've used have been ~85 underfood full camber full sidecar skis and they are cool but I just won arv 116s and lowkey wanna take them in the park out of curiosity

I don't think you want to go above 100 unless if you're shredding powder. I ride 96's and I love the feel.
