i’ve got a fresh pair of K2 Marksmans that are 163 cm and I just bought some marker griffons to go with it but I’m not sure where I should mount them can anyone give ideas? I am light weight and only 5’4
I have that same setup and had mine about 2.5 back, but got them remounted almost to the suggested point, so like 6 back, and like them a lot more this way. I'm not too much of a park guy though and spend the vast majority of my time going forward. They got noticably more maneuverable mounted further back. Held a better edge, charged crud harder, just generally felt more stable. Also my favorite pair of skis I've ever ridden.
I just got that same setup but I’m thinking of center mount because I ski park most of the time but I also want to ski deeper snow when I’m at different places
ok im not educated on ski bindings so 2.5 cm back from what?
also i forgot to mention, i ski big jumps, trees, some pow, crud, and groomers. i refuse to hit rails on brand new skis
When someone says 2.5 cm back they are are. Referring to the true center of the ski

Mount them on the line, no need to center mount them if you are not skiing park on them.

NOOOO dont center mount em, go like 3 or 3.5 cms back so you can enjoy some soft snow performance while also being able to have some freestyle elements too

From center
If you use the search bar there’s a couple threads on this and iirc most people got -3 or -4?
I got mine -3 as a one ski quiver, I wish I could ride more deep snow with them cause they charge hard. But 90% of my days are in the park and I really like them there too
so like -4 would be good? i want to get better at switch but mostly like sending side hits and natural features. i do want to get 360s and backflips down tho
I got a pair of 163s as well and I have them -2.5 from center. Beat mounting point out there period.
skrrtskrrtso like -4 would be good? i want to get better at switch but mostly like sending side hits and natural features. i do want to get 360s and backflips down tho
CalumSKINOOOO dont center mount em, go like 3 or 3.5 cms back so you can enjoy some soft snow performance while also being able to have some freestyle elements too
I was thinking of mounting at -1 cm if not center because I am working on front swaps and getting better at rail tricks

I mean that's alright, but I dont think the marksmans are the greatest ski to mount that far forward bro
Sleep on it and think about it
But either way u will love the skis, they are super dope!!!

If you're worried -4 might be too far back then go with -3. Thats what my thinking was, its enough center for park and still back enough for all mountain
I have the 184 marksman mounted at -3.5 and its fucking awesome

You bought the wrong ski for that. Lotta skis around for $300 rn , consider buying a park ski For rails, but if your not doing rails mount at rec and carve, spin and flip away. Most of my skis are -6 to -9 and give me no trouble for carving switch, spins, or switch Takeoffs , or landing.
If i were you, and you're struggling with a mount position, I would use the recommended mount point that is on the skis. The engineers at K2 put that there for a reason with tons of testing and reasoning for it. Unless you're going for a different mount point for something particular, for example center mount or using -2 cm from center like I usually do I would use the recommended. Trust me when I say this, we don't just put that mount point line there for good looks. It has a purpose.
so im thinking like -5 or -6? or should i really put it on traditional. I’m going to be skiing a lot more groomers and trees than pow in michigan

Just go traditional.

The recommend point on loads of skis are stupid far back tho. An arv96 has a recommended point of like -4 or sum, for example. I'd day just mount em at like -2.5 and give'r
