What is the reason we look forward to skiing so much and why is it so fun?
Adrenaline simple as that! Also i think its because its fun to learn something new and know that you can always be getting better and learning new like some sports you get to the highest level and theres really nothing new to learn that somone hasnt already done already, with skiing there is always a diffrent grab, diffrent rotation. Alex hall and TM and other legends are still learning new things. You can always be the first to do something, Andre ragetlli did the first quad when he was like 11 or somthing. If your not good then you have a outlook where you can keep learning , Also i think we love it so much because we can be outside and we can do it WAY longer than other sports even if its not park skiing, I see people who are like 65 to 70 , Tell me one 65 to 70 year old who is playing football. You cant!!!! Skiing is for life!!!
Doing tricks to make the Jerries think I’m cool
Learning new tricks and stuff is just amazing but skiing with your friends and all the memories that comes with that is just so nice
And to make a bunch of nice edits

Freedom. Sort of like the mall as a kid. That was the ability to go anywhere and explore. What's that run like, where's the park, finding sick ass side hits. Then even just ripping groomers, or turns in deep snow. It's like you're fying floating. There's always a point on the shittiest day. If you really give it a shot, even in the worst conditions where that spark comes through and you know exactly why you're still into it after. Only takes a few turns, a small cliff, a clean rail, or a little bit of air and it's pretty obvious.

Ski club
skiing is all about the simple pleasures in life: getting stuck in traffic on the way to the mountain, being whisked to the top on a futuristic lift, buying a 20 dollar hamburger at the luxury summit lodge, hitting the juul at the top of the park, getting furious when you can't land a k-fed, and ending the day by getting blackout drunk with a bunch of dudes for no reason and lamenting your inability to get laid. It just can't be beat!

I think we might have diffrent views, but i can agree about the 20 dollar burger :)

Love the replies in this thread.
for me it’s because of the rush. Nothing makes me feel more alive then skiing a sick line - getting to the bottom and having your head just feel like hyperspace.
The satisfaction from progressing is also similar to the above.
And also I love travelling round the world and meeting new people, skiing combines that crazy rush with the ability to make new friends super easy. You know, just in the chairlift and that. There really is an awesome community around free skiing and it’s pretty small. Everyone knows everyone to some degree.

was thinking this; The freedom aspect of skiing. also sorta like making art or something similar, you get to choose your canvas and ski it the way you want however you want it. Its so interesting all the fun unique ways we can figure out how to get down a snow-covered slope, this goes for all skiing too: Pow laps, lapping the tow rope park with your friends, skiing bumps, charging cruddies, hitting urban, hitting the skintrack, skiing big burly lines, etc. It helps to kinda show appreciation for all types of skiing IMO.
I could write a novel on skiing and my love for it but Ill keep it short. Its been in my life ever since I was in diapers and a few decades later, nothings ever changed and its still the greatest fuckin thing. Its always been there, its always constant, and its always something that brings stability and peace in times where shit hits the fan. Extremely thankful for being involved with freestyle programs as a kid and now being able to coach for the same program and give back to a community that brought me the best life ever.

theres So many reasons
when I was little it was the freedom , the learning and magic of the mountain it was a new world to me! Plus I learned quickly and surpassed all the kids in ski club etc which for a loner was nice to be acknowledged for excelling at something
then there was the wanting to be like the supermen of my time Like Johnny Mosley and watching the sport change into freesking has become sooo much fun
as I’ve aged it’s brought a lot of life and happiness and even youth back to my life and passing that onto my kids is just the most fun
and finally that rush of pushing the limits and cheating death , the danger and bc on skis ... I feel like I can fly
For me its like meditation and self improvement its nice to clear my mind and work on a task at hand, also feels good to bang out a trick you have been working on for a while.

Speak for yourself. They could serve inflight meals on the jumps i hit.
Nothing else matters when you're skiing. Flow state and fully immersed in the moment.

I do it to stay young, it is the fountain of youth.
Probably like so many others, its one of the few things in this world that can keep me sane.
Because it's one of the only things that makes me feel free and happy
