Moving Jan 1st and for the life of me cannot find a place to live. Anybody know of anybody looking for a roommate? Or have any suggestions of how the heck to find a place?
This. Go work at Goldminers Daughter

Can’t be that hard if your willing to sign a year lease. If you only want 4 months then just sign a 12 month and only pay the first couple then dip.

Could sublet for the winter too, find a basement unit cause it likely wont have utilities to pay.

Sure I’d just imagine OP is looking at the worst possible time.

At least in my area its pretty filled up or expensive cause of college kids and skiers, maybe millcreek or cottonwood heights is cheaper and available.
Considering rent for a 1br is coming in at $800+ per month anywhere north of the highway, you may want to look into getting a van temporarily. They’re all the rage in the area between the u of u and downtown.

How about parking though. Really want to.

There’s plenty of free street parking in that neighborhood. You won’t be able to make it up either canyon without a decent winter setup, but the bus is free with a season pass and I’m pretty sure you can overnight at the park and rides

do you have a job? what's your monthly max you're willing to spend on rent? what sort of living situation are you trying to get into? do you have a car? are you moving for winter/spring, or permanently?

ah that clears things up. the only way that'll be doable is if you find skiers and/or students with an open room. i guess at this point your best options are gonna be on here or on craigslist, but that's tough if you're not already local.
$450 is gonna be tight. Best option is to get a job at a mountain and get employee housing. If not check KSL and craigslist for a rental option, maybe someone is renting a bedroom. Just try to get it in sandy, midvale, cottonwood heights area so you’re close to the skiing.
Could put a add in craigslist for chores for a room maybe some old lady could use help and you could live for free. Win win
A student going abroad might be a good bet.
Abih is the last thing Alta needs

But how many people do you live with and is it a house with utilities? I lived near downtown in a split house in the basement unit and was $470 for 3, nothing more plumbing sucked and state st is scary but miss the ease of that spot.
You’re best bet is employee housing. Otherwise hit up ksl or Craigslist for roommates.
Theres other areas like in eden and big cottonwood canyon. Don’t just limit yourself to park city and little cottonwood canyon.
I used to live in eden, heber and emigration canyon in Utah, favorite place was eden. Had tons of extra space, should have rented it out.

4 total in the house, and thats not including any utilities. about 470ish w utilities
I moved to salt lake in 2010 and paid 460 w everything included. getting a rate similar to that these days isn’t to be expected but isn’t out of the question
Oh gee this fucking thread from AbiH again
