So bargain shopping for bindings for skinny skis and came along the idea to put spx 10 on the skis (yeah I know kids bindings). I've found posts that say the Look spx 12 can be mounted with the axial 2 template. This is a stupid question but would that work for the spx 10 too? Very little info out there and Look unfortunately doesn't provide paper templates so people have to make them.
Yup, NX, PX, Axial, Axium, and SPX all share the same pattern. And obviously you should always double-check before you start drilling if you have any doubts, and this is especially true when using paper templates.
Thanks man. Yeah I'm obviously gonna quadruple check and then check again
For what it's worth, I've used those templates from Binding Freedom for many many mounts and they've come out bang-on every time. Big big shoutout to those guys.
So last night I did all the measurements and laid the paper templates down as accurate as possible. I laid the bindings over the templates as one last double check and noticed that the heel piece template isn't quite exactly matching the holes on the bindings. No matter how I slide the binding, two holes in the heel piece will always be slightly offset it appears.
I decided to test on a 2x4 and the binding screws in alright and flush with the board so perhaps it is fine??? The toe piece is perfect to the template. My scaling is accurate and double checked to the mm. I have multiple sources saying this is the correct template, but seeing the targets not line perfectly made me worry. Is the template wrong? Any suggestions on what to do? It's just all very weird considering all the info I have and that I checked the scale and also that the toe piece is good. The other templates look nothing like this one so I'm fairly certain I have the right one. I'll try to post pictures when I get home.
Anyone else encountered this with paper bindings?

I have the jig at work, if you'd like I can measure it and let you know what the proper hole spacing should be.
Thanks for the offer but I think I have it figured out. The template definitely measures correct to what I read, but for the binding itself, it is off slightly. Here's some photos. Looks to be off by about 2mm vertically, maybe 3. Lateral measurements were good. Ignore the lateral misalignment; I think I nudged the binding when snapping the shot.
