I never heard how he did that. Did he use like steel bases or something?
it's filmed in very short bursts I'm pretty sure. Probably a winch or people pushing him and then skis free of aids for a few seconds, long enough to get the shot. Also helps when it's really steep. The films give the false impression of one continuos line he is ripping.

yeah its very creatively editing to give a sense of flow when reality is everything is very carefully set up and segmented
a lot of the shots including the Göreme, Turkey jump had that crosshatch snow fence hidden in the deep grass in order to have enough speed for it. I met the local guide company that Candide's crew used for location scouting there while on a shoot this summer and they showed us the zone while out the next day, it blows my mind how they were able to pluck this spot out as a hittable jump
this shows the in-run where they hid the snowfence, and the takeoff between the two closest phallic sword towers. Its located in "Love Valley" which was named that due to them looking like dicks haha
this shows the landing at the end of the path. If you rewatch the edit you can tell how specifically they filmed/edited this spot in order to obscure the in-run/landing as much as possible, and also changing it up to allow them to show both the cork7 and dub backy without it looking too obviously like a repeat spot. The in-run clip leading up to the dub is from a completely different spot but cut to look like they link
the behind the scenes episode for Turkey hasn't dropped yet but I'm sure it'll cover all of what I said way more in-depth, hoping my boy Atil gets a cameo

Not the case, you can watch the behind the scenes videos, most of the big lines he did were complete.
He did use special skis for the water segment, you can tell by looking at them that they're float skis of some sort.
Steel bases would be too heavy, I expect most segments were normal skis with decent wax or edgeless skis.

There were special bases for the volcano, but besides that everything was stock apparently

Im pretty sure a wax job would get raped within seconds of riding down a rock face.

The wax was mostly referring to the sand skiing. It helps a lot there.
The parts of the video when he was skiing on the water, they used water skis painted to look like his skis, but other than that every other shot was used using production CTs
