Beginner help and tips please
Keep at it, when you fall, pick yourself back up and walk it off if you can. Get back on and try again. Repeat numerous times.
learn to skate first!! think about what you learn and how it builds into other things later down the road
-above all, get super comfy with riding and pushing at different speeds first.
-ride on different surfaces. rough concrete, smooth, bricks, sidewalks, just get a feel for everything
-start experimenting w little manuals, ollies, and powerslides.
-if you have quarter pipes and banks get used to the feeling of going up something and down it backwards, or carving around transition.
-watch good skaters irl and in video parts. if they do something you want to learn, watch where they put their feet, how they swing their arms, position of hips/shoulders when they pop, etc. and try to emulate that when ur trying stuff.
feel free to pm about anything specific if u want (:
Do it everyday that you can for as long as you can. Don’t be discouraged about not being able to do tricks, just cruise and experiment and eventually tricks will come. Ollies don’t get as much credit as they deserve because they are hard as fuck when you first start out. A lot of tricks are just about grinding out a couple hundred attempts. Also ride with your trucks loose when you start. It makes it way easier to turn. I feel like a lot of people have trouble picking up skating because they skate right ass tricks on tiny ass boards.
Ride the board everywhere you go, get comfortable on the board then the tricks will start to come. Watch clips, pros, and other good skaters to see how they skate and imitate them. find a solid crew to skate with and get hyped on landing eve the smallest tricks, go for flow not just tre flips off the bat.
Dont get discouraged!
Paul Rodriguez (who I'm actually not a huge fan of) has a great quote thats like "you can give anyone a basketball and they can make a free throw in 10 minutes. It takes almost a year to learn how to even turn on a skateboard."

Learn to drop in. Nothing else will give you more confidence as someone new to it. Focus on the drop in, other stuff will come later. It’s especially necessary if you’re skating park with a lot of transition
