yeah, i highly suggest a backy over a front. ill backy pretty much anything but i still don't do front flips unless the landing is soft as hell haha
like the dude above me said, a backy is helped by the jump instead of working against it, and you get to spot the landing really early.
i suggest a pow jump if you have the access. if not, a slushy park jump. either way, it doesn't need to be a big jump but i def suggest that it's a pretty vertical lip for obvious reasons
the most similar thing is a gainer on a diving board. that won't have the weight on your feet like in skiing but on a gainer you have to work for your spin. on a snow jump you can basically just let it roll
like most skiing things, if you can truly imagine yourself doing it and you commit to it, you'll probably be fine. don't rush it though. backies are easier than most tricks but we all know how intimidating the first one can be. wait til you're feeling good and have a good jump to throw one on
