Going to tahoe for spring break, what are the conditions normally? Got epic pass
When is your spring break?
There will be plenty of snow for spring laps.
Are you looking for terrain or parks? Where will you be staying?

march 23-april 1
Staying near northstar but can drive to any of the vail resorts.
I ski enough park in michigan, really looking for some terrain
The other option on Epic is Heavenly yeah? It might make more sense to stay at South Lake or Stateline if you don't have some kind of hookup on a place to stay. Stateline has much more night life I think...I'm too old to care about it and always stay near Truckee or Tahoe City.
just wait until like march 20th and check the weather. there is a huge base right now so most stuff should be open. also, go to kirkwood, its worth the drive.

I forgot about Kirkwood being on Epic! Definitely ski there, unfortunately it's in the middle of fucking nowhere and there aren't a lot of options for lodging nearby.
There's a fuck ton of snow. We're in the process of building 2 mini pipes at Northstar. 18' has been open for a while as well as most of our jumps. Honestly for park spring is probably the way to go this season. Parks were closed or buried for most of Feb. Still need to set in a bunch more rails but it was a battle against mother nature. In parts of the mountain we've been pushing snow into the trees because there's so much more in those areas than can possibly be used for everything. Even the park laps were hard to come by, the trees have been firing this season.
I second checking out Kirkwood, I haven't made it this season but it's such a fun mountain.

Ain't nobody got money for that
I've actually never even been. This year if I'm healthy hopefully will be able to find some late season comp action. Nest year I'm probably gonna grab a DP pass
If you go to Squaw, they are having a dope little festival over the weekend that you’ll be out there. Try to check out Greensky Bluegrass and Leftover Salmon!

I'll be there for WWG. Didn't go last year because the lineup wasn't as good and went to sac to visit friends and see tunes. This year lineup is stacked.
Dont have much to answer your question but I am headed there for my spring break in 2 days and conditions right now look unreal

Honestly half offs are kind of worthless unfortunately. Appreciate it though. I have a stack of Northstar ones. Roommate wants a few but the rest will probably sit in my car till I find strangers to give them to.
I love how they say "You will be fired if caught selling these". Like none of my friends can even afford to go for 50 off. Who the fuck would I sell them to.
I did WWG when it used to be in Avon. I stopped going when it moved to steamboat though. Usually CO is a way better lineup but I think Tahoe is the best this year.
I can't buy an ikon. Too much $ and I don't have time to use it enough. Squaw just isn't close enough. Would be cool if I could work out a comp or cheap ticket to go once or twice a year but hasn't happened yet. Tossing around working there though, would more likely move to DP though. Our park program at the star is kind of fucked.
Hoping this weather fucks off so I can get some more backcountry days in. This rain and wet snow can suck a fat dick.

Enjoy GSBG, those dudes just keep getting better

Theyre so good. Super bummed i missed the cbc show by a day. Had some car issues on the drive out. Didnt eat my ticket so that was good.Wasn't a big fan of the new album but stoked to see em. Went to their fest in Michigan last year. Good times. Such a deserving band to blow up. Was waiting for it. Yonder was playing shitty but holding on with their name. Took a while for greensky to get their shot and they killed it.
Also a big fan of Tbt, leftover and sam bush. And recently billy strings. Lineup is stacked. Good to see dead winter playing all 3 fests. Dont know them well but they were good whenevrr i saw them around here.
Fest is gonna crush. Wish it wasnt so expensive. Had to put a new engine in my subie last month so its a stuggle but ill be there.
Got the wrong pass.
Stay south lake. Gamble ski Kirkwood.
With the epic I’d defiantly do Kirkwood pver heavenly and northstar. Dope mountain

This is good thinking. Skiing park is awesome, but you can do that at home.
Of the mountains on Epic, my favorite in Tahoe BY FAR is Kirkwood. Kirkwood is one of the best mountains in the country. It is very steep, and it gets a ton of snow. It is very underrated, in my opinion it blows the doors off of a place like Vail. Unfortunately, Kirkwood is a long way from where you are. I used to live in Tahoe City, and I can't remember how far Kirkwood was, but it is a long way. If you have access to a car I would do yourself a favor and get at least one day there. In fact, I would try to rally your group to get a couple of days there. Heavenly is okay. It is not my favorite, but Mott Canyon is fun. Overall it is a decent mountain, but a sizeable cut beneath Squaw, Alpine and Kirkwood. In fact, I would rate it beneath Sugar Bowl. Sugar Bowl is close to you, and it is a great little mountain, but I don't think they are on Epic. Still it might be worth it to pay for a ticket. Sugar Bowl is very steep and gets lots of snow, it is another highly underrated mountain. I like Sugar Bowl MUCH more than either Heavenly or Northstar. To be honest, if I had an Epic pass I would stay in South Lake, you have Kirkwood, Heavenly and Sierra at Tahoe right there. In North Lake it is better to have the Ikon.
Have fun. I am a Mammoth guy, but the conditions in the Sierra are awesome right now. Even if it stops snowing the coverage is great. You should get good windbuff turns or good slush turns on the steeps.
even if they somehow got like no more snow until your visit, it'd still be sick. theyve had a super good year so far so itll be high tide when you go regardless, and spring snow can be amazing in the sierra, great corn etc
Kirkwood is a fucking awesome mtn. That said skiing enough park in Michigan in kind of lols. Not looking for park is one thing, but unless you're strictly a rail rider there are way better parks in CA
It's been a slow year with the massive volume of snow but spring parks, and freeride shit will be pumping this spring. Hopefully you catch some pow at Kirkwood.

Hm yeah might be a good time to try something different. You’ll be fine on what you have and you’ll be used to them, but yeah wider skis can be a great thing to try even if it’s not fresh pow
Just see what your gut (and wallet) tells you when the time comes

Sorry man, I’ve only demoed there the first time I ever visited. You’ll find a good place though, if not on here then when you get there
Regardless you’re gonna have a ball, the place is amazing and beautiful. Have fun dog

Are you flying into Reno?
If so you can demo Moment at their factory. Might email them for details?
Otherwise there are numerous shops around Tahoe that can set you up on some good demos.
