What are the differences? And how can I tell them apart? Especially for ski related injury.
Don’t taje my word I’m not a doctor but
Acute - Basically just happened
Chronic - Long term
The main factor is time.
Muscles take days to heal, tendons take weeks, nerves take months to heal. After months go by and your nerves haven't healed. there is a good chance your tendons are still screwed up. Causing stress on your nerves so your nerves don't heal either. Chronic pain can also be classified as pain that will never go away
An acute injury is good looking whereas a chronic injury looks like marijuana
A chronic ski injury would be like overuse injuries in the back or stress fractures in the ankle from overuse. An acute ski injury would be like falling and spraining your wrist or tearing your ACL in a crash.
