I have always imagined a slightly stiffer k108 would be the perfect ski for me. Does the custom carbon make much of a difference?
I was wondering the same for some custom stiff k96s. I got a pair of k98s last year with the custom soft flex because I thought that would be a fun ski to play around on. I was so wrong, they were way to soft for any fun speeds and they were so soft that when i would butter or anything the skis felat like they were folding in half. Im wondering if opting for stiff would be this scenario just too stiff not soft.

How big are you?
ColingarnesHow big are you?
5’4” 130ish. I bought the 172 K98s with soft carbon.
I have veneer + extra carbon 186 108s, so the stiffest layup on3p offers.
They are great skis, but the limiting factor when charging is the shorter effective edge and the short turn radius. The layup is plenty stiff enough to go fast, just not really what the ski is designed to do. You can almost ski just as fast and powerfully on the stock version atleast at my weight 165lbs.
The extra carbon does makes the ski more "energetic" and you can feel the ski rebound stronger than the stock version.
