Hey NS,
I'm thinking about getting a Virtika jacket since they appear to be of good quality and warmth (plus better prices than most). Is Virtika as good as they say it is? If not, anyone have any jacket suggestions?

I like my suit and I got it on a great sale. If the sale seems good and you like it then give it a try. Seems like they randomly run some deep sales late season so wait if that's not now. I have the insulated suit and it's kinda ridiculous but very comfy on cold resort days.
my old virtika jacket was crazy warm and as good quality as you can get for that price range. virtika almost always has a sale on so why not try and cop?
I’ve got the 3L bibbed pants and triple L jacket that I’ll wear a few times a season when it’s freezing. The jackets unbeatable, pants are nice too but after 2 and a half seasons I’ve got a bunch of small rips on the bottom and almost every button at the bottom of the pant legs has broken. For the sale prices they have I’d recommend them tho

Dosen't matter which company you buy from, this is bound to happen. I have bought outerwear from companies that are 20+ years old and brand new companies. The only time my outerwear has lost waterproofing is when I wash them about 3 times.
i have the signature jacket & (esp considering the price!) it gets the job done well! lots of pockets, tons of vents -- obvs not the most tech piece out there but if you're scopin for solid outerwear that's won't drain your wallet i definitely recommend
They are actually having a 40% off sale right now on some their jackets and pants if you want to cop them.
ripped in a pair of their bibs for the better part of 2 seasons. Toasty, good relaxed fit, and 20k/20k. Hard to beat that considering their prices for this stuff.

signature or shell? All the shells are stfo and im worried the signatures are gonna make me sweat my balls off if I ever plan to do backcountry with them

They were the sigs. And yes, you’ll be sweating balls. I ended up buying a pair of shitty shell pants for 10 bucks from a gear swap for touring and spring days because of the insulation of the signatures.

Yeah it's like a sleeping bag. Wear it for more than a short boot pack and you can pretty much cook yourself.
Looks like the new stuff is going away from the die cut logos. Those are a weak point on my FD suit.

I figured. I would do some dirty things to my hands on a trew gear suit

Take a peek at Sweet protection as well. I have their supernaught bibs right now and they’re awesome. Have a beacon pocket as well as full zip off capabilities. I think the monkeywrench pants are the same things as well without the proshell and some light insulation

Man if only my bank wasnt empty lol. Those supernaughts are pretty dope. Im just banking on finding some dank tech gear for cheap like trew or sweet protect at a gear exchange or on here

Yeah keep your eye out. I got mine off of steepandcheap for ~200. A bit expensive but they’ll last me quite a few years and it’s rough going without goretex in the PNW haha

Yeah man so ive heard haha im finally movin out west to rado this summer. Plannin on endin up in the PNW within the next 5 years or so. All my gear is old as fuck so ive been tryna find the best/affordable option for an all mountain/touring suit
I had a 3L jacket from them from 4 or 5 years ago, and although it was super warm, comfy and good looking, I ripped the powder skirt, the velcro wrist closures and broke 2 zippers within 2 seasons. That said, this was a few years ago, so it’s very possible that they’ve improved their quality since then. Also could’ve just been me not taking care of my gear. Either way, if you scoop up something during one of their crazy sales you can’t really beat what you get for the price.
had the shell pants and a decent amount of the seams tore pretty quickly. also the zipper for the bib pocket broke which really pissed me off.
Can anyone comment on how waterproof they are? Are the 3L bibs enough to keep your butt dry on a sopping wet 35 degree snow day when the chair is snowcovered every run? Or rain?

20k/20k so its practically goretex

It’ll keep you dry for the most part. I’ve ridden them through rain before and while they did get damp and a little soggy on the outside, everything inside was perfectly dry. Keep in mind, these were pants that saw 2-3 seasons of use before I got them and never ended up re-waterproofing them. I’d say they hold their own as a good overall pant. Would I buy them over goretex if money wasn’t an issue? Probably not, goretex pants are usually more resistant in water, snow, and wind + they are usually made of better materials which makes them last longer but Virtika did something right when they made 20k/20k shit for people on a budget.

Thanks. This was about the answer I was looking for.
That camo shell jacket looks bomb, 25k waterproof, and cheap. Wish there wasn't so much labeling.
David Lesh's doucheness way outweighs their quality
I ended up buying a pair of their bibs last year, and I can confirm that they are absolute junk. The fit is terrible, and they are not remotely waterproof. Like seriously less waterproof than jeans.
I live in Switzerland, and I bought a Trilogy jacket and Sahara pants at the beginning of the season from their new shop in Europe. I rode long and hard everyday for 30 days, through the cold days and the warm days in spring. They took all the punishment I could dish out and the gear came back for more. Tons of great features and good zippers, with pockets and vents everywhere. Toasty warm on the cold days, and I opened the vents on the warm spring days. Super tough material which will last at least another season or two with hard riding. They are 25k waterproof and it works - any moisture just beads off, always nice and dry. It's a relaxed fit so you have to be down with that. Radest styles, and the price is great for what you get. There will always be better (and way way more expensive too), but the styles, prices and quality were spot on for me. Their Euro shop had super fast shipping (got it in 2 days), the customer service was cool. They even threw in a free beanie. I would do it again anytime!
