My friend has demo bindings and thinks it’s the bindings that make him suck at rails. Can anyone vouch for him?
What the hell do bindings have anything to do with being able to do rails

That’s my argument but he says that since demo bindings are raised from the ski it’s harder
i have schizo bindings which are basically demo bindings but you can move the pieces up and down the ski and keep the same bsl. I don’t like them but I suck at park and can still slide rails perfectly fine.
idk shit about binding tech, but I had demo bindings when I learned how to ski rails and I survived. Weight could be an issue, but I think the solution here is to call him a pussy until he decides to quit skiing forever.
Demo bindings are significantly heavier, but also your friend just sucks.
Sounds like an excuse. I learned rails on a pair of clunky 150$ skis with old rental bindings.
I mean, they are a little heavier but not heavy enough to make someone "suck at rails". Ur friend is making an excuse
However, demo bindings are kinda sketchy reliability-wise compared to normal alpine bindings. So easy to come out of em when you don't want to. Wouldn't want to be pushing it too hard on a pair of demos.
I learned rails on a pair of skis that had race bindings and weren't center mounted and it was just fine. The race binding deffentally added some weight though.
