Anyone have thoughts on black crows specifically the navis. I have never heard a thing about or seen anything here on Them.
GeneralButtNakedHey kid... you ever heard of Elan?
This^
The guy that reps Elan for my shop showed us pictures of them being produced in Elan's factory. They are just overpriced, rebranded Elan skis.
Last year they basically became the supreme of skiing, now everyone here has 1-3 pairs. I stay steady with my ARVs and AR8s tho.

So are armadas just overpriced rebranded atomics?
Black Crows skis seem to be getting a lot of love lately and this is the first I've seen of people talking down on them.
I have heard nothing but good things from people that have actually skied them and their prices are pretty much on par with most skis of similar quality. I have not skied them but I have friends that have and I have held them, the atris and anima are pretty stiff flexing and build quality is very similar to Armada.

This statement doesn't make sense. Their price is on par with pretty much the rest of the market? And tons of factories produce other companies skis for more revenue. Elan has always made solid sticks in their factory....and from what I've seen and felt black crows makes some nice high quality skis.

FYI- most of their models are produced by Atomic, in Austria
i have a set of the Atris and i absolutely love them.

Is it just quality/construction pretty much the same or also similar ski models?

Small brands rarely have the capital to launch their own ski factory, so they hire multiple factories to produce their skis for them. The small brand does the bulk of the r&d (the factory helps since they best know the presses, their capabilities, and so on) and the factory simply acts as the producer.
The small brand uses multiple factories for the simple reason of not putting all of one's eggs in one basket (in case of problems arising in said factory), because factory A is better at higher end skis and factory B is better at lower end skis, one factory has access to more unique materials, another one has unique printing capabilities, etc. etc.
Don’t they prototype/press in chamonix tho? I’ll have to find that video of Julien making a prototype in the Hq and then heading out to ski it right then.

I'm sure they make protos in Cham. Industrialization and production, though, will take place at Atomic (or any other factory they use).

Still would rather have the camox than some rip sticks

No disagreement there ;)
Will all due respect to all small brands who make their own skis - I’ve never understood the hate towards Atomic and Elan making other people’s skis. I’d rather have an Austrian skier make my Armada’s/BlackCrow’s than an underpaid Chinese man whose never been on skis. Maybe it’s just me.

Honestly couldn't agree more this guy knows what's up.
