I've seen winter parks(drop in's and rails) made in the backyards of people's houses. Since it is now spring, soon to be summer, I'm wondering how I would make a summer set up in my yard. Can anyone give me some advice on materials to use, how to set it up, stuff like that?
Check out the cult BuildAJib101, helped me a lot.

Spending some time in here will answer a lot of questions and give you some great ideas on materials, costs, dimensions etc.
Check out some of the threads in there. It's still active to an extent. Several people follow it and get thread alerts when people post.
don't overthink how youre going to make it or it will take you a longer time to make. Just build a platform at a decent height with a ramp thats not super steep but not too mellow. the lip can honestly work in so many different ways so make it to your preference. Ive seen setups 15 ft high and some as low as 3 ft, thick turf, thin turf, orange fence, MSnow. there are a lot of different variables but in the end its gonna work if you have enough soap and a good sized rail (dont only have 10 ft rails make them longer for harder tricks).
My setup is 7ft tall with a tarp on the ramp and turf on the lip with a 16 ft rail but my yard kind of goes upward so i made it taller. If your yard is flat or goes down gradually then you don't need to make it as high unless youre trying to go for some kevin salonius/cory iyoob type stuff.
