I'm replacing my rain jacket this summer due to it being beat up and beginning to lose waterproofness and am looking for recommendations. I'm doing the west coast trail so it needs to be quite waterproof but also still breathable. Due to mainly being used for hiking and other outdoor activities including mountain biking, it also can't be a super bulky one (ie no rubber heavy duty work rain gear) Thanks!

Patagonia torrentshell or the Merrell capra vaporvent.
Both are damn waterproof...zippers on the Merrell might seem weird...but when you have a pack on you can unzip the entire chest for some amazing ventilation.
Both pack up real small. Both are very waterproof. My bias goes to the Merrell because I got it for 9 dollars at a store closing.
