Sup NSers! I'm currently looking at trying to book a rad vacation this summer, but I'm not really sure where to go considering I never really plan my own trips. I'm a broke college student, so I need something reasonable but I'm looking to go somewhere in the US or a US territory so I don't need a passport, and ideally thinking a beach trip. I'll be traveling with the gf and shes down for anything. Kinda been tossing up the idea of San Juan or if i find a good deal on flights and hotel I'm hoping for Maui. Just wanted to see if anyone had suggestions or advice.
go the US Virgin Islands, they are amazing, great beaches, tons of snorkeling and diving, a really chill environment
My bf and I are heading to Puerto Rico in just about a month, mainly because he doesnt have a passport. Airfare was more than reasonable and we ended up renting a beautiful apartment in Old San Juan off of Airbnb for the week. Those two combined, ran us about $770 each and the flights are not out of a major hub either. We're going to rent a car just so we can scope out the rainforest and a few other things along the way. One of the days we're there, I booked us a quick flight over to Culebra Island for the day. Check it out, it's beyond gorgeous.

proZachare you the "broke college student" that barely has enough gas to feed his h3 daddy got him for his half-birthday
nah the kind that works 2 jobs while being a full time student to pay for his own car and gas
Why not get a passport? It could open up places that will be, even with airfare, less expensive than US-based destinations.

This is a really good idea. Depending on where you fly out from, it would be a lot cheaper than booking all the way out to Maui. Especially since it's one of the smaller islands and doesn't have a major travel or military hub like Honolulu. Always more expensive since there won't be "as many" flights headed to Maui as there would be to Honolulu.
Really, passports are worth it, there are a lot of reasonable vacations you can take that are out of the country as well. If you put in paper work for one now, you might be able to get your passport by the summer.
