Looking for opinions on either as western one ski quiver. Great prices on both currently. Mainly looking for fun factor and something that can be driven all over the mountain and put a big smile on my face. 80% off piste 20% on piste, glades, chutes, hitting rises/bumps etc.
Both are super fun skis in all conditions, but they derive their fun from different aspects.
The Meridian is fun due to the full rocker and surfy nature, while it maintains control on hardpack and steeps due to the stiffness of the core.
The Deathwish is fun due to the softer flex and wider base, while it maintains control on the hardpack and steeps with it's camber profile.
I've ridden both models for about a full season and both will handle every condition out west with ease, just depends on whether you want a stiff surfy ski or a softer cambered ski.

Turns out i didn't even read the title
Ended up going with meridians in 181 as I'm looking more for that surfy/slashy feel.

I know it's been a while since the last post but how did you find the meridians? I'm really interested in picking up a pair.
Also, how tall are you? I'm 5 ft 7 so also thinking about going 181.

I'm 5'9 and rode the 187s last season. If i had the choice between 187 and 181 for the same price I probably would have downsized but my main point to these skis was something to annihilate choppy stuff and still give off that loose and surfy feel. The meridians sure delivered on that. While they do have a very surfy feel to them, don't underestimate the ski, its stiff as hell and ready to charge anything. If you're looking for a buttery midflexed ski then this may not be the right choice for you. I dont know if the construction of the 187cm version differed from the 181cm but at least the ones I rode are true rippers. As well, pow performance left something to be desired. Based on their profile I'd expect them to float nicely but they sort of sunk like a rock. I believe this seasons meridian updated that a bit so maybe Hotpocket or Tyler could fill in a bit for me there.
Tl;Dr if youre looking for a ski that rips hard, has a loose feel, and is capable of taking you anywhere on the mountain look no further. If you expect a softer, playful ski; you may want to reconsider.

This is one of the complaints that we sometimes [read:rarely] hear from customers regarding the 107 Meridian. Unfortunately, adding some increased powder performance to the ski would take away from the chargy / surfy collaboration you spoke of earlier. We did not change any of the Meridian lineup for next season, aside from the new tip shape on the 117 version.
We designed the 117 Meridian specifically to deal with these issues and it has a significantly more powder oriented sidecut / flex / etc...when compared to it's 107 counterpart.

Pretty much this right here.

Hot Pocket, have you guys ever considered making a Meridian 117 in a longer length? Like 192-194cm? I ski the Bibbys at 190 and feel super comfy on them at that length. Considering adding a fully rockered ski to the quiver for more pure powder skiing, but hesistant to get the Meridian in 187 because it seems like it would be too short. If the ski is fully rockered and -5cm mount, seems like it would ski short and have no problem pivoting, so a longer length would make sense.
Request: Special Run of Meridian 117 192cm with the OG Chipotle Banana crazy topsheets (those graphics are fucking rad!)

That works. Alright, we got 2! Any other takers?

I can’t handle a 192cm ski to well at 5’8 but since the supergoats went over very well in the longer length I can only imagine that the meridian 117s would have a similar outcome

Yeah. I imagine the 187s are perfect for guys around your size. But us folks at 6 foot could definitely use that longer length. Was hoping this might turn into a Supergoat situation, and Moment makes other skis in the 190+ length already! We will see...

If you enjoy the length of your Bibbys, the 117 Meridian 187 would most likely fit you pretty damn well, but I understand the want for longer stuff.
Our production quality / quantity has been steadily increasing over the past few years, and special projects like longer skis and goofy designs are making their way back into our schedules. Unfortunately we've already kind of filled up our quota for new models / specialty stuff due to the introduction of the Wildcat Tour 108, other secret stuff and several OEM projects.
There's potential for us to produce such a special run in the future, but I can't speak to the certainty of it at this time. In the meantime, we've brought back the OG Chipotle Banana graphic for the snowblades:

What is the new tip shape?
Would you mind giving a small writeup on the 117 compared say to the bibby? So little information out there on this ski, would love to give it a go.

Objection, your honor. Asked and answered.

Aesthetically pleasing and fucking cool.
Meridian vs. Bibby?
Camber, mainly.

This, the Meridian tips are just asym for looks. They don't actually do anything besides confuse the hell out of other people and make you look dope for riding some funky lookin skis.
As for the bibby vs meridian 117, ill leave that to someone else. I only rode the 107s and the bibbys so cant comment on the 117s.

New tip shape:
As stated above, the main thing that the 117 brings to the table is it's 'surfy' nature, due to the full rocker. It's quite a bit stiffer than the Bibby due to the fact that you don't have any camber to press through. Both will blast through crud and float plentifully, the 117 is simply more surfy while the Bibby / Wildcat will have a little more stability on the hardpack.
Pure surfy / chargy powder riding, 117 Meridian.
Powder riding + hardpack performance, Bibby / Wildcat.

Thanks for the follow up. Stiffer than the Bibby?!? Nice. Given that, and the fact that it has a longer measured effective edge, I might be more comfortable with the slightly smaller length than the 190. Might have to give these a shot, because Im very intrigued by having a more pow specific Bibby.
Hope some others can provide some more feedback too!

We're currently discussing it but no guarantees.
My $.02 for anyone considering the meridian:
I picked up the meridian 107 in 181 length at the beginning of the season and had the time of my life on them. They are surfy and can pivot easily in tight spots (bumps, trees, chutes) but are also surprisingly stable at speed and rail on hardpack for the type of ski they are.
I've skied just about any and all terrain on them except for really deep snow and they never let me down. Highly recommend them.
Now the 30% moment sale has me thinking about picking up something else...
