looking to get a better general use photography and videography lens for my t5i (looking at 24mm full frame lenses to get a 38mm FOV) and i was wondering if you guys had any suggestions or if anyone has owned any particular one. I am very interested in the rokinon-samyang-bower 24mm f/1.4, but i have heard of many copies become de-centered in focus making it unable to get sharp images. i would like to keep it in the sub 500$ range otherwise i would love to get a sigma art 24mm or 18-35mm. thanks!
The Rokinon is manual aperture and manual focus which isn't always the best. Working with autofocus often makes taking images quicker and easier.
Another option is this Canon 24mm f/2.8 STM for $150. Not sure about the quality or durability but it is pretty cheap.
The other option I know about is a Canon 28mm f/1.8 USM that's a few years old. However it's right at $500.
Hope that helps!
Rokinon and become a manual focus wizard. If you're ever trying to work on sets in the future you could be getting some good 1 AC practice which is such a good position to be good at.
The ef-s 24 2.8 from canon is excellent for its price and size
