I think Newschoolers has a very active Racer community and we should get our own forum. We can talk about fischer skis, leki poles, sharpening our edges, setting up gates and many more super fun ski racing things. So what do you guys think? I know many of you are secretly racers.
I don't know, I recently got into ski racing with a freeride and instructing background, so I don't take it very seriously. Most of the ski racers I have met are really serious. like way too serious. I feel like it would not be a chill forum (personally) But I mean if you want to host a website, go for it! I would join, I doubt it would get as big as NS, but you never know. A little healthy competition is never bad.
Take it easy!
Hang Loose
when i'm in Queenstown in New Zealand there is a social racing league between some of the local shops and bars which is pretty fun, it isn't serious but people get pretty competitive.
Hey guys! I love the idea from this forum so i'm gonna start out with a #relatable post, Yesterday i was going into a hairpin turn and edged in my dynastars and nutted a gate XD

In high school, our freeride team would do dry land workouts with both the nordic and race teams, can agree, they took things way too seriously. Honestly, they would've had so much more fun if they just cracked a smile and realized bottom line of skiing whether you are competitive or not, is to have a good time and enjoy it.
Don't even get me started about them having to share a set of gates with us due to low snowpack on our practice area for big mountain/no park set up yet. Apparently gates can be a very useful tool for big mountain training, but they were definitely not happy with the switch-slalom game we had going on.

I've ridden the lift with a lot of racers at early season copper and can concur with this. Least fun people to ride the lift with. I'd probably be dick too though if I had to wear a leotard on the mountain all day.
Cults are all dead but you can try to start a racing one
It would be pretty shit. Just filled with racers bashing eachother, and arguing about unitards and skis. Not like we do anything different here, but...
I love the positive feedback wish I had time to talk but I still have 5 hours of tuning and waxing left.
I love how all of the poles match. There's so little variety.

And they come pre bent... knowing they're gonna land on them off rail kickers ;)
