Is it just me or does anyone else suffer from bad headaches after skiing? I wear a helmet and it's snug but not tight. Usually after a long day of skiing, my headache arrives when I get home. It'll usually wake me up in awful pain later that night. It happens at day and night so I don't think It's the strain on my eyes. Does this happen to anyone else???
Well you mentioned your helmet; that was my problem. It wasn't uncomfortably tight, but I was getting headaches after skiing and I needed to figure out the problem. I jumped straight to the idea of my helmet being that problem because my earpieces were giving my ears a little trouble. I took them out and skied without them and that helped immediately. That's just my experience though.
Yeah. It happens to me sometimes. Usually only early season or if I way over do it though. I think it's usually a from a combination of fatigue, altitude, and dehydration. I've bonked so hard I puked from the headache. Problem is I have so much fun skiing sometimes I don't realize how much I'm exerting myself.
I took the earpieces out. I think it is from dehydration but I drink about 5-6 waters when I'm on the hill, I bring some with me and buy the rest in the lodge. It could be just the fact that my helmet is actually too tight and I just don't realize it
My helmet is a tiny bit bigger than it is supposed to be and I don't wear the earpads in it. I have never had a problem with pain besides the chin strap. I need it pretty tight so the helmet doesn't move around like crazy. It also could be your goggles if they are under your helmet since your helmet is snug as it is.
Goggles use to give me real bad headaches. Not so much anymore, but I only wear them when I absolutely have to.
I have an abnormally large head, and a xxl receptor bug with a hat under gives me problems halfway through the day. Take it off on the lifts problem solved

Have you tried the XL smith maze? Its huge and my big dome fits in it no problem with a hat and face mask under it.

Because they're under your helmet?

I have not, but im probably gonna get a new lid this season. Was considering giro combyn or the maze. Did you take the padding out?

Giro Combyn is so comfortable, that's what I have. I got it last season and it felt great then, but not now. My head grew a lot.
Almost every time I get a headache while skiing it's from wearing my goggles under my helmet, especially when they are too tight. The plastic parts on the strap push into the side of my head.
Also it could be from dehydration.
gapersarefriendsDid you take the padding out?
Yes, because the hat acts as padding as well. I have definitely taken some blows to the head and I have never had concussion problems.
