So for some reason I can do quite a few tricks on tubes or rails, like k Feds Ellen's and such but when it comes to boxes I absolutely suck. Idk what it is but I just can't grip anything and I'm just flat out terrible on boxes. Anyone have this problem too or know why this happens?
Yes because its so much harder to set an edge on boxes. I have the same problem but I've started to get better at it. Just make sure your ski is on the metal coping when you try to pedal
Yeah its pretty universal for skiers.
Adolf_SkitlerBoxes suck, that's common knowledge
They're fun on snerberds though.
Depending on what they are. More a rail guy but I like to dance a bit on them boxes from time to time
Im a flatbar / skinny box kinda guy. Don't need to balance too much but you can grip easily.
Boxes suck you're not alone. Don't be the try hard on a wide box trying to slide the outermost 2 inches of it in order to front 2 out of it, it looks like dookie.
I do like dance floors because you can get wacky on em, and/or I like tricks like 180 on, don't spin on the box, 180 out or maybe presses.
In general I just don't like boxes very much but they are great to learn basic slides and even to learn spins onto as there is a lot of room for error
idk why everyone hates on boxes they are so fun you can try some crazy stuff and not fall just because of the surface area
Thank god for fatty tubes though. I'm pretty sure everyone(accept maybe vegans and canadians) can agree that fat tubez are fucking great.
In terms of noobishness they have the width to give you some play for locking onto the rail. They slide smooth. You can ride the inside of them if you're coming at a hard angle with speed. They're just sick. Really good for getting kids to take tricks from a box from a rail or sometimes even skip the box entirely.

yes
Boxes are great for trying new spins on and stuff, but if you land a new trick on a box, it doesn't count, untill you land it on a tube/rail imo
Personally, boxes are harder and hurt more to fall on. Learned 2's on on a narrow one though. Tubes are by far my favorite though.
I feel like it makes a huge difference on whether the box has round coping versus square angle iron.
