Im Getting a pair of Kartel 108s and was wondering if anyone on NS who has them or has skied them could tell me how they skied and where the prime mounting position was for them. I ski all mountain and want this to be more of a powder oriented ski, I ski with my friends and we ski around finding natural jumps and features to practice tricks on like 3s, 7s, backflips and corks with grabs. I will rarely take this in the park so where should I mount? I was thinking -3 because -4.5 seems too far back to rn playful and jibby
recommended would be sweet. If its primarily gonna be used all mountain anyways, if you are going to ski switch a lot -3 prob wouldn't hurt.
They rip at the recommended mount. I've never had an issue with the tricks you mentioned. If you were looking to make them primarily a park ski, I'd say go closer to center, but otherwise keep them at the recommend point, they destroy everything there.

And you think recommended is good for skiing switch or landing switch iccasionally

I didn't have any issues with skiing switch. Think about how you ski forward vs how you ski switch - the stance is relatively the same (weight over the tip of the ski) either way you face, so having more tip than tail will give you more to work with plus being at the narrowest part of the sidecut will give you a better carve forward or switch. Buttering will be the same as well, the flex won't really change drastically. The flex is meant to flexed at recommended as well, so keep that in mind.
Really the only reason to center mount a ski is for swing weight and being centered over rails, but if your not looking to ski rails with them, I would go with recommended.
