Alive and prepping?

Just wanted to ask if anyone here is longboarding, doing mountain bike riding, blading (even surfing) .. or any activity leading into winter in order get that buzz you're after.... ok, please keep things civil.

People often complain about not having snow around and being able to ski, but if you're working from a feeling/sensation point-of-view, it's not the end of the world if you can't ski... just do other stuff that feels similar. I've been going to the skate park and just carving it up on some speed-blades.

Regrettable but I have not reached I high speed flow state since June the last time I went skiing. Used to do a lot of biking and it's certainly possible to get into a similar flow state biking. Couple of times I biking this summer I didn't really go out for long enough to get in the zone though. I play in a band and summer and fall were pretty busy. I really get in the zone playing and performing music and it is similar but not exactly the same as getting into the zone while at speed.

I suppose just driving a car you could get into some type of flow-state. I mean you need a high performance one and you can feel strong g-forces. Music - yeah, I mean being locked into a song structure and hitting notes at certain times and then the improvisation and soul factor - there is a thrill to be had. And even better to be sharing it with people.
