What's this I've been hearing on the news about a huge storm expected this winter (again)? Is it possible that there could be another season as good as this last one?
read up on it. There are winners and losers with both la nina and el nino patterns. Hopefully the midwest and the east get nuked this year like the pattern is trending towards.
La Niña isn't a garuntee of one huge storm, but a solid indicator of several larger storms depending on where you are. It could also be an absolute drought. Where I am I'm getting pretty stoked, it took a long time for summer to hit and it's been raining a lot!
only 90s kids will remember when winter was actually normal
La Nina, like El Nino is more susceptible to other types of variables and oscillations than during a neutral year...
what it comes down to is how much moisture comes in off the ocean, and how much cold comes in from the Polar regions... and how and when and to what degree...
So yep. I've stopped caring about El Nino vs La Nina.. thanks Bryan Allegretto

Hope you're kidding
La Nina or no 16/17 is going to be sick. IMO it might be the sickest season ever. Trust me you're gonna want to get a pass. Start saving up those vacation days everybody.
OregonDeadIMO it might be the sickest season ever.
lol why though
Here in Michigan when we get blocks of 90s in the summer we get big snow in the winter. Lake Michigan stays warm longer which brings tons of lake effect snow early season.
japanadaread up on it. There are winners and losers with both la nina and el nino patterns. Hopefully the midwest and the east get nuked this year like the pattern is trending towards.
Yeah, shit. Bad rain years usually lead to bad snow years in the Midwest. My town already has 15" of rain more than average and it's the most we've had in 50 years.
it hasn't actually snowed here in canada since like 2009 so we're due for a good one. but thats what i said last year and all it did was rain.
^That came out smaller than I thought it would. Here's a link to the site with the full size pic and prediction for this winter: http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/us-la-nina-forecast-fall-winter-2016-2017/58306249
