Three stories and 36,000 square feet:
i dont like the sounds of this, hoping it doesnt drive crazy crowds through carinthia. Theres like no parking over their either so thatll be interesting. i loved that lodge, hopefully they keep that xbox.

My hill got a new lodge this past season, and while it ws really nice to have, it created shitty parking/traffic, brought bigger crowds/gapers/idiots which basically made the inside feel just as crowded as the older one, just on a bigger scale with moe people. I hope it evens out next season, but get ready to have your hands full. Also, because of the excess spending on the chalet, they didnt put like any money into the park at all.
Sad to see that lodge go. Hope they still have a mini ramp
This will be a good/sad thing, I heard about this happening a few months ago, will definitely miss the old lodge , however a new one wil be sick, hopefully they will keep the mini ramp, also (fingers crossed)maybe they will keep the vault more stocked in the new lodge
i honestly didn't know anyone even used the mini ramp haha
steezyjibberi honestly didn't know anyone even used the mini ramp haha
All the time! I love going to skate there, you usually have it to your self

We used to. 08-10 seasons we'd go up all the time in the spring and shred both. Sometimes hiking rails until june, then shred the mini at the end of the sesh.
I've seen people skating it before. Never super busy sessions but it got used.
I agree. It will probably be nice, but it's always bittersweet because you have some attachment to the old. Hopefully they fix the parking issues. I haven't been in 2 years but it was always crazy and a bigger lodge will only make it more ridiculous.
Just read and saw "Foreign Investment" "EB-5"
Hopefully this goes better than other times.
i got a house up there, looking forward to this renovation. in years past the lodge would be really crowded and it sucked not having seats and having to wait, never really saw anyone using the mini ramp

Hopefully they go bankrupt
SkiBum.Hopefully they go bankrupt
I'm sure they won't but somebody should write up something about how it probably will. The rails will get sold to other countries to pay back investors etc.
We need some NS tabloid shit up in here to bring the truth.
Im kinda ok with this, hope that it doesnt bring more people, or at least jerrys to Carinthia. That lodge is pretty small for the amount of people there on weekends. Dont see it as necessary but thats why I bring a bagged lunch and get my shit on in my car.

You never know, I'd like to think mt snow with the backing of peak and all would be able to pull off a legitimate operation, but at the same time who would have expected Bill Stenger at jay to be making shady moves.

Yeah, im sure it will b fine
as a local I can say that the mini is used a lot. there are almost always people there when I go. Idk how many of you were here for Peace Pipe Jam but if you were you could se that they already took out a ton of trees and will also be taking out the ski baba chairlift (double with no bar at the very bottom. used for beginner park and special events) and replace it with a magic carpet. The mountain also bought a bunch of properties adjacent to the current parking lot and plan on either expanding the lot or eventually building a parking garage. I hope there is a plan to upgrade the heavy metal double to something with a higher uphill capacity or the carinthia base area will turn into a mob scene. A high speed quad would also be awesome for the northface
It looks like there's a lot of residential development going in. Expect more Jerrys spending time at their slopeside condos in next few years.
^I feel like that wouldn't coexist well with the whole idea behind carinthia, maybe they are moving the parks elsewhere?

they would never do that. its pretty much the biggest selling point at mt snow right now. that being said this is definitely gunna throw off the vibe
danbrownRIP carinthia flat down
Pretty sure someone hit that rail in Wicked, but I'm not sure who.
I'm super pissed about the crowds that will be on the hill and the parking but honestly I rarely use lodges unless I'm on a trip with my family. It takes time away from skiing, its so damn expensive and trying to get a seat blows
danbrownRIP carinthia flat down
They should keep it and turn it into an on the hill feature
Brule.Pretty sure someone hit that rail in Wicked, but I'm not sure who.
justin gillern gapped over the down
it's been hit by a bunch of people though
