As of right now (May 19, 2016), most brands should have fairly dialed products for 17/18.
Here's generally why: if a brand wants to launch a new product at SIA/ISPO 2017 for fall 2017 delivery, they have to have final samples done in December 2016/January 2017. That means all performance testing, durability testing, production line, etc done for at least one size by December 2016. That means early samples (protos with proper colors & graphics) should be done by about now. First raw/skiable prototypes should be skied during winter 2016. First product ideas summer of 2015. Timelines for specific products will for sure vary, meaning skis (especially for smaller companies) don't take nearly as long as boots or bindings for example.
Long story short, when you see a hardgood product at SIA/ISPO, it was first thought about and conceptualized about 1.5-2 years before that, sometimes shorter, sometimes longer.
