As far as I know, Woodward has had on snow camps at Boreal for years.
I hope to see something like this in the east soon.

is this a joke comment? When has the east coast had any sort of reliable summer skiing past May (on a good year). Maybe at tuckermans on a good year.
Want summer skiing? (hike or lift) go west otherwise keep dreaming

Eh. I wasn't entirely serious but it would be cool to have something like this eventually. Sunday River has a snow factory btw, just not sure it can be used in August.

Think it would be cool and potentially have enough demand to warrant putting one in to have a snowflex type setup (aka liberty in VA) somewhere mid point between NYC, Boston, southern VT

Yea but this has a fucking chair lift... That's insane...

Agreed, a mountain like killington should just blow a fuck ton all year on a closed run and pile it up 50ft high lmao

Is there any dry slope skiing back east? Like there is in England?

Seems to me that something like this could really produce some summer business. One resort even has moguls, it would be cool to ski bumps in the summer. Actually, I think one of these could work in southern California, if you could get some park features it would make some money.

They used to do that on outer limits. Still only made it into May maybe June one year. Its just not viable on the east coast. Not enough elevation.
Tenney mountain in new hampshire had one of these about 15 years ago. They invested a ton of money into a system like this and had it for one summer. I remember going there probably during the summer of 1997 or 1998 with my brother on our snowblades of course and it sounds just like what boreal is going to have. It was kind of before it's time and I know the investment was one of the reasons tenney went bankrupt a few years later. either way, this type of technology is awesome!
Maybe I was a little off with the years, here is the article from the summer of '03

They make it to mid may on superstar just about every year. Pretty sure they're still open.
Expensive and inificient. But when daddy wall street buys it for his son why not.

yeah Superstar not Outer Limits. Got them confused. Outer Limits would melt a lot quicker.
