The music, the outdated camera effect, the people. Nostaligic as fuck, as a kid from 95', those were my first freestyle skiing prickles, those videos you would see on the tv screen in the upper corner in a canteen on the mountains.
Than me and my cousin being amazed and inspired by what we saw we would hit those little kickers on the side of the piste!
i rewatch the first ski segment with the GO! team song at least 10 times a winter.... so epic
That was the peak of ski movies IMO, so many good ones came from those couple years.
Jon Olsson in that neon pink suit might be the coolest shit in any ski movie ever. most the shots in TBC are better than the best single shots in most movies, nothing can match it. speaking of, dafuq happened to filming with 16mm? TBC is a perfect example of film>digital.
TBC is the standard all ski films should be compared too
maybe not tricks wise but most definitely when it comes to film making.
OSTNESS, MAKE ANOTHER SKI MOVIE DAMMIT
I'm sure I can still quote most of Tanner's monologue at the skate park after a decade.
This is needed:
I remember the trailer being one of the first freeskiing videos that got me interested in the sport. I used to watch the 240p version of it on Youtube all the time, good times.
G5_KiDi rewatch the first ski segment with the GO! team song at least 10 times a winter.... so epic
Brandon backers part is the best opening segment ever
the go team song was perfect for his segment and mike wilson's segment was on point! only part of the video that sucked was tanners rant and giving the finger to the camera. its the only reason i cant show it at the ski shop..
Agree. Such a good movie I remember watching this over and over again. Such a primetime for ski movies. Was so excited every year since progression was happening at a crazy pace and seems to have slowed down.
best movie. tanner's sw 9 over chads still hasn't been topped. one of the gnarliest tricks to ever go down.
just finished watching it again on my PS4 for like the 10th time and it still is just as good as the first time I watched it. It just makes you smile all the way through it, such an amazing movie. everything is right about it, the skiing, lifestyle shots, editing, music. the perfect ski movie. i was probably like 6 or 7 at the time this thing came out but recall being in complete awe seeing it played on the VCR tv in the ski shop at Pine Knob, MI.
honestly tanners segment might be my all-time favorite in this out of any other movie.
