I know there's really no such thing as a fun job at my age, but I was interested to see what NS did during their high school summers to make money. I'm going to have soccer going on all summer as well so I'll probably be looking into something part-time. Any tips or suggestions?
If you want decent part time work, do yard work for old people all day 2-3 times a week. Or if you want something more legit just work somewhere you think would be fun.
I work at ski shop in the winter and a golf course during the summer
Ive worked in a cart barn at a golf course for 3 summers. super chill all i do is wash golf carts. Big bonus is that people leave unopened beers in the carts all ze time. Or prositute
.CJ.Car wash attendant.
Do u work at waterway
I work at a golf course in the summers and make mad bank /claim but I work full time so that helps
steal peoples skis in the winter and sell them in the summer
im p much a prostitute. its pretty chill i guess
make wallets out of duct tape and sell them at middle school during lunch
The movie theatre was my first job. It's easy, it's super fucking fun plus you get to see free movies all the time always.
I'm a lifeguard and its ok but it pays real well
russsavokskisI work at a golf course in the summers and make mad bank /claim but I work full time so that helps
I'm intrigued. How much is "mad bank"?
Are you in a comfortable tax bracket? Have you prepared a 401K? Have you diversified your portfolio?
I worked at a water park over the summers when i was still in high school. It was seriously super fun and an awesome way to get CPR/AED certified, get tan, and make dope friends.
Working in a kitchen. You can learn a lot about cooking which can be helpful when you have to be a real adult.
ben_collinsI'm a lifeguard and its ok but it pays real well
sameeeeee
well, I'm gonna be one. I finished the class last weekend. /claim
CHORIZODo u work at waterway
No, but a kid I know works at Chevron and he gets pretty good tips.
Work as a pool builder for a shady company. 60-100 Hour work weeks, hellish conditions, and you will be tired and burned, but 1500 a week in cash isn't bad.
Since you like soccer, have you looked into refing games? I did it from middle school through the end of high school and you can make pretty good money, especially as a center ref. You can do it year round too between indoor and premier leagues. If you start doing tournaments with like 5 games in a row you can make a lot haha.
Only down side is the parents and the people who give you shit haha. That's where you're like here's your card bitch!
Was a fish monger at a very successful local fish market. Was an AWESOME job I loved working there. Very hard and smelly work but well worth it. Paid me $10 an hour off the books and worked a few days after school + weekends + summers. A full day was a 12 hour day. Made SO much money from that job.
Dennis_Reynoldssteal peoples skis in the winter and sell them in the summer
right off the rack, suckers never see it coming
cart barn is an ill job. Its pretty slow, I bring my laptop in and edit haha. You just wash carts and check people in and out and pick the range.
Lifeguarding
Hard work but you literally get paid to tan and go swimming and diving
best highschool jobs i had were manual labor. building a solar farm/mowing/gardening. work outside and get tan, go jump in the river, and smoke and drink in the evenings with your boys. man i miss highschool summer nights
Something at a golf course or find a landscaping company and work for them.
KennyfLifeguardingHard work
...You really think lifeguarding is hard work? Mandated breaks all of the time, sit and talk with people, do essentially nothing all day? You're sure in for a rude awakening at some point in life...

Depends how busy the pool you work at is. Like I'm at a super chill pool so I mostly get old Russian people who just want to sauna all day but I have a friend who works at a city pool and she says it's a complete shitshow there.
I worked as a steward at a marina. The best memory I have of working there was cruising around the mooring field at sunset on a cool, quite summer evening. Some Sublime and leftover pizza to end the shift and there you have my high school summer evenings. Cause when you're working your ass off under the hot sun, the first think you think of is swimming in the nearest ocean or lake. So why not just work there in the first place?
/\yea i worked at a yacht club for a while when i was growing up. that was a fun job. the club was a total shit show so we could get away with anything there. so there was little 15 year old me, driving around tractors, and moving 30,000 lb boats with a crane. always had rum and cokes coming our way, had a bong stashed in the sailing school building...
i think one of the best days was when of the boat's service warranty almost had enough hours on it to get a free service. so my boss told me to take a couple friends out, and just take the boat where ever i wanted for the day, and i got paid for it.

If you read the rest of my original post, you will notice how I point out that i get paid to do jack shit- its the orientation/ weekly conditioning that my work requires thats hard
I worked at a bike shop for 3 summers and it was incredibly fun. You can totally find a fun job, just look for a chill boss and cool coworkers. The content of the job doesn't matter as much as long as you're surrounded by fun people
DJing weddings is hard to get into but once you do the pay is crazy and it's actually pretty fun too.

Yep haha, i try to ref as much as I can. Its such easy cash
MVX___I know there's really no such thing as a fun job at my age
This is the silliest thing I've read today. There is a metric fuckton of cool ass jobs out there for kids your age. I wish I could work a fun part time job rather than sit at an office desk like I do now.
When I was in highschool I worked at a skatepark doing all kinds of stuff, I sold fried dough at the pier (people watching was awesome), I coached skiing, etc..
