Tell me the craziest ski/equpiment malfunction that happened while you were skiing, where your ski/equipmest was so messed up but continued to ski with it.
About a foot of missing edge under my foot and the wood was rotting.
Ski snapped in half and delammed almost the whole length- mad pressed the rest of the day
I rode skis with no brakes for a season, had to get leashes and it was terrifying when I'd eject bc the skis would fly down the hill after me bouncing all over and inevitably I'd get hit by them
skied the entire season with 2 buckles broken on my full tilts. one was replaced with a metal screw( bottom buckle) the other buckle (middle buckle) was being held together by duck tape so that the middle pin wouldn't fall out. Still fully functional even learned back 4's on them

Maan
Salomon Z12 heel peice broke and it was being held in by 1 screw. Skied a whole weekend on it.
.MarshalAbout a foot of missing edge under my foot and the wood was rotting.I am pretty much always riding with missing edge lol
A-cAllSki snapped in half and delammed almost the whole length- mad pressed the rest of the dayAlex knows what pair this was but Last year cracked the core of one ski had a chunk of base and 6inches of hanging edge, Rode those for the last month of summer.
Lab_or_bust2 out of 3 broken buckles on my boot
definitely have had a handful of broken buckles and used ducttape religiously last year.

Can vouch 6ft of ski turns into a fuckin sword when you have them tied to you, Scary as hell but better than chasing the ski into the woods
Lab_or_bust2 out of 3 broken buckles on my boot
get fulltilts
baitget fulltilts
Pretty sure that is full tilts MO, broken buckles everywhere
I skied half a season with a broken toe piece lol. If i would slide my right foot to the left the boot would just come out. So had to ski on point haha.
Doing a 540 over the biggest table at the park so about 50-60 feet and both my skis popped off during the take off

Basically the same but ive been grinding on side wall for over a year. almost grinding the core.
right underfoot no edges and the bases rips off like and inch under foot. basically just core and sideway left.
My side wall behind the heel on one of my park skis exploded last season and I'm still skiing them.Like the core is Shattered and shit
missing atleast a foot of all 4 edges, kept riding them for a month or so, the sidewalls and bases got so worn down that my base was flush with the core.

Skied and toured 8 days on a pair of Full Tilts with 3 buckles total between both boots. Skied 15 days on skis with a very broken tip. Tore out the crotch of my bibs the first day of WSI last year and skied the whole even with fluffy white insulation leaking out my crotch.
Skied almost all season with boots that would move around within my binding it was very irritating
i have some old cap constuction skis with all 4 sidewalls blown out underfoot.
Ripped a toe piece out due to a rotted core, and ended up crudely reattaching it with about 7 screws at odd angles around the toe piece. Made it through the rest of the trip!
Newschoolers: "My entire edge ripped out but its ok because the sidewall shreds hard too."
Epic Ski: "I put on 40 degree wax for a 35 degree day."
brake bend to an insane degree, just bent it up and over the edge to hold it up and skied the rest of the day until i could get home and bend it back
I built a jump with a buddy and we were hitting it throughout the day, we got back to the car and my skis looked funny sitting on the ski rack, so I looked at it and the ski had folded behind the heel piece and was all bent out of shape
Had a pair of 08 k2 silencers that had been remounted 6 times. Filled the about 50 holes with wood dowels and epoxy and my bro is still ripping them.
Top sheets on the edge are almost completely gone too, previous owner would sword fight with them in the parking lot. Epoxied the fuck out of that too, good as new
When I was 13 and first learning park, I had these rental boots that I rented for the entire season. About half way through the season, I ended up cracking the shell between the first buckle and the toe. The next day I landed really front seat (I was switch) and my ski ejected and my boot literally broke in half. Since I had no other boots and my parents wouldn't rent different ones for me, I duck taped the boot together and skied the rest of the season like that. It was horrible, every time I landed backseat the broken plastic stabbed my arch and I had to retape them before just about every time I went out. It was really sketchy looking back on it.
Tl;dr I broke my boot shell in half and did not have access to a different pair of boots so I duck taped the shell together and skied the rest of the season like that.

I feel your pain my friend i had 3 pairs of break total this season,
Not fun
Snapped both cores on my k2 press. made them super buttery and the bindings were mounted ahead of center

I use Celsius and for a minute I was really confused as to why someone was skiing on a 35 degree day

nah ill gladly chase my skis over them being attached, Christ i would look like the joker if had done that!

but....cap construction skis don't have sidewalls?
SteadySpaghettiI feel your pain my friend i had 3 pairs of break total this season,Not fun
you broke the same binding 2x this year.....and then bought the same binding? The squire is probably fine for a lil grom who's not pushing it very hard, but even bumping up to the griffin would've been the way to go dude. Buying cheap, plasticky shit just means you'll be buying it more often.
Skied for about two months on two rotted skis, any time I'd crash hard enough to eject the heel piece would pull out so I couldn't push myself unless I was risking not skiing for the rest of the day. Had each ski remounted twice, then heli coiled before they pulled out again and I called it quits and bought new skis

Do body parts count
casualbut....cap construction skis don't have sidewalls?
the side of the ski is hanging over the edges and the 16 year old foam core is exposed
The plastic around the pivot on my boot broke off the day before going to Jackson Hole for their $6 day, I wrapped a ski strap around it as tight as I could, it was like skiing with one boot at 120 flex and one boot at 50 flex. It was one week before they would have been out of warranty too.
Later this season a shop fucked up my skis so insanely bad on the belt sander that they were sanded all the way through all of the p tex layer, through all of the edge and into the wood of the core.

damn dude, gnarly
THEDIRTYBUBBLESalomon Z12 heel peice broke and it was being held in by 1 screw. Skied a whole weekend on it.
Did that for a whole season. sketch shit
This one time I skied a whole season with squires.
But never again
At least one ply in the tail of one of my afterbangs is snapped so it's bent up but I've been on them for a year since. One is just a little more buttery than the other though.
i just got done making my run for a comp and went over to the other park and went of this natural jump and did a nose butter 3 and tried to trow really hard so it was cork 3 and tried way to hrad and my skis fell of in the air then i landed on my knees .

i didn't buy two more bindings
i kept blown the breaks form messing up when landing switch cuz the breaks are shitty
extra breaks are like 30 for a pair and i had to get two extra pairs
got nw binding for next year tho some pivots just sitting in my room waiting for the right ski to arrive
Concussed myself out of bounds and had to ski the hour back to lodge. Still not quite right kids wear a helmet
I had Head Show's for about 2 weeks and then broke them.
I skied with a gopro for a whole season. Never again
