All over NS people have been saying they could beat each other in games of SLVSH (namely deforestation). But how can you play someone in SLVSH if they aren't there? Thats why there needs to be virtual SLVSH. You can challenge other skiers on NS and it doesn't matter if one person skis at Mount Snow and the other at Mammoth. Rules would be the same but there would need to be another member of NS present on both sides to check to see if they only take one attempt and thats it. There could be corruption and someone could try the trick many times until they try it so that could be a problems. Thoughts?
Im not sure a virtual one would be possible, due to the ease of cheating. But what would be sick is if Slvsh made a social media kind of app where you could find skiers in your area that are about your skill level. And then through the app organize games and such. Also would be a dope way to meet other skiers in your area.
Neat idea but seems far fetched. Like you said, corruption will run rampant and games would take a really long time play out. (Considering each person has to film a trick, submit it an then wait for a response/new trick)
Love it! But the world isn't ready, OP.
u could just use face time so it is a live stream

This is actually an amazing idea
Op actually sounds like a good idea, of course like you said people could cheat but hey, skiing is about having fun not trying to win a game of slvsh so if they really want to cheat then idc let them they prob won't win anyway if they have to try a trick multiple times to land it

Tru that would be sick
Its kind of like an idea I had a few months ago https://www.newschoolers.com/forum/thread/820469/What-Newschoolers-Really-Needs-
Good idea, but I don't see it working for a number of reasons. It would take too long, there could be cheating, and also the mountains aren't the same. Say I'm here at pebble creek and someone is at Mt Baker. Mountains are the same so the tricks and hits done won't be the same. But good idea tho
I could see it working in a non live leader board format. Like have "seasons" of two weeks, first two days people post 3 tricks each and given a default ranking of 1000.
Over the season, other people could click other peoples names without knowing the set tricks then have a set time to upload them attempting said tricks. The trick setter/third party can then review and determine if the tricks have been done or not. If it has then setter loses ranking and other skiier gains.
Although this has a lot of trust/honestly factor involved I just don't see a live one happening unless everyone has OP data speeds on their cellphones
I think it could work if there was an app where you can search for a random game (same concept as trivia crack), then the setter starts with a simple trick. From there you watch it and you reply with your own clip, that was captured through the app, so you can't upload from your camera roll, and the app automatically makes you use the first video you take with no chance to try again or redo it. That would solve the possible cheating. Also there should be play a friend option from your contacts.
Yo you can do this in snow. If you have a decently powerful comp consider trying it, I quite like it
I've had this idea for a while, we sometimes have virtual games of BIKE on pinkbike. But yes there is the corruption factor
A-cAllSnapchat games? I feel like it could work
But you could try something 8 times and only send the one you landed

Makes a ton of sense, also there could be a time limit. So once you see the trick or open it if it was snapchat, you would have a set amount of time like 2 minutes to do it

2 Minutes is rough cause what if your on the chairlift
yaa'l can selfie stick FaceTime that shit and put it up on your instagram afterwards. then we will see how much skill and how cool u guys r
make an app where you chose an opponent, and can only film once for each trick, have people volunteer as refs for game to watch the footage, so that they can decide who landed or didnt land each trick. Refs would have to submit footage of themselves skiing so its clear they have knowledge of tricks or take some sort of test before being allowed to ref. But that could minimise cheating

Or maybe we can just do it to have fun, send it with some homies we normally never could with, not give a fuck about winning and/or not cheat (:

Just have a friend who you would play at home handle the phone. Idk about your friends but mine would hold me to the truth

I know exactly how to do this.

Thought of it two years ago, haven't had resources to execute.

Is it like that "challenge me" app we used last summer?
Ski Dice has a game like this only it gives you a random trick. Other than that, same idea. You do the trick and if you land, the other person has to do it and you click if you landed or not.
Ns tournament. Send in snapchat names to someone who is willing to set up a bracket. So dope. Do like a 8-10 rd single elimination tournament
I am so down to help make this happen in any way. Bishop just say the word and I will be your virtual bitch
It would be challenging because no two features are the same and refs on each side is kinda challenging. Plus you you need a lot of workers for the mass amount of people that would want to do it, who gets to play, who can't etc.
i think it would be dope to see pros playing a game on instagram 1 up where a pro lets say sets a three, and the other pro has 2 days to one up it, so he throws a 5, and the pro that ends on the hardest trick wins

What we need is a serious app coder.

I have little to no experience in that field but if you want, i could help set up the reffing qualification rules or something?
