Hey NS me and my brother are driving up to Stowe, Jaypeak, Whiteface, Sugarbush, and Killington for spring break. We are big tree skiers, and have never been to any of these mountains. Where is the best tree skiing, and what are you guys' favorite trails at these mountains. We are driving and sleeping in the parking lot, so ill try to get some pictures uploaded after the trip.
no trees on the east are open this year cause of the lack of snow
I_Bohrmannno trees on the east are open this year cause of the lack of snow
Timberline WV got dumped on last week and has sick tree trails as long as you're into lift failures!
oh hey andy, it's ben. how's college?
anyways these guys are mostly right, most of these places except jay have almost no snow in the woods. Sugarloaf has a base in some places but it's still pretty sketchy.
Don't go to the east expecting to ski any form of trees the snow sucks. Go out west. Otherwise stick to groomers and park
Woods are a bit thin. However if your hittin stowe check out chin clip woods and angel food if its looking deep enough. Balls Falls is also a dope spot with a couple of cliffs but requires a little hiking. Its filled in enough as a few of my friends just hit it the other day. You might have to ask some locals for the way in though.
Jay just got a good amount of snow over the past few days. I was there yesterday and the trees were pretty solid. Thin cover in areas but their trail count stood at 100% open yesterday.
I just spent the weekend in Sugarbush. It was terrible on Saturday and Sunday with the rain and high temps turning everything into slush and ice. Sunday was much better. Other posters are right, it's been pretty tough on the east coast. Sugarbush did have a pretty bomb park, even though I'm not good enough to hit any of the features.
Killington has 49 inches of snow on the year. Thats insane!!
And to make matters worse it's going to rain balls the next two days.
reeskiKillington has 49 inches of snow on the year. Thats insane!!
And that's a stretch to say they got that...
Yea exactly because after every storm they got rain. But thats what they post on conditions report
Hey OP guess what WE DONT HAVE ANY FUCKING SNOW
We don't have any snow and for future reference, skip whiteface because they have no good trees to ski. It's all too tight
