Sooooo for the last 2 season I've been doing a lot of flips and off axis spins, but when I try and go back to the basics and do a 360 I always end up going off axis and landing super backseat/not smooth at all. I used to be really good at 3s carving and not, had them on lock. What has happened? At this point I'm more comfortable trying flat 3s and shit than doing a 3
I'm challenged on jump progression but thats because when i do get to ski its on my summer setup without snow practicing rails
Well its probably because you have been practicing so many off axis spins. Your in the habit of spinning off axis, so when you try to do a normal 3 you throw off axis. I had the same problem a couple years ago. You just have to mix it up a little, do some 3s and then do a couple flat 3s.
I totally feel you OP. Recently, I have seem to lost the ability to cork and rodeos sketch me out. A few weeks ago, I landed my first cork and rodeo 9. Now I can barely do rodeo 5s and cork 7s.
But I relearned backflips so Im not distraught.
I came into this thread like "oh yeah, I still need to learn 5's I'm definitely jumps challenged"
Then I read the post and realized I dont belong here
yeah same, I just got quads on lock and now I can't even shifty
Just put more shin pressure and put your arms in a T formation. It'll look a bit odd but you will learn them again
I know what you mean OP. I've had a few days where on-axis spins really weren't working out for some stupid reason after working on flips/off-axis stuff for a while. Solution: front flip everything. Not kidding. It will bring your shit back together.

Take it all the way back to the basics and work on a good strong pop on takeoff. You can re-build from there. Almost guaranteed it'll fix everything.
I feel you, I can't even do a 5 anymore unless off axis, forward or switch.
Because the lingo is similar and that's messing with your head. Remember that the moves are totally different. A cork 3 is basically an entirely different trick to a 3.
Whenever I try anythig off axis, I misty 5. Even if it's a totally different rotation. Flat 5? Nope. Misty. Cork sev? Nope. Misty

See above advice for all of you.

I do the same thing trying to practice off axis stuff on tramps, it doesn't make sense
