Hi everybody my name's Nick, I'm new to Newschoolers lol and am asking for some help with choosing a pair of skis and bindings for next season. I currently go to college in LA and am an hour from Mountain High, but go to Mammoth, and big bear a lot. I started skiing when I was 3 and did the good 'ol ski school in Alta Utah every season my whole life and I feel that I am fairly advanced, as I can ski every run in Alta. Since I am trying to ski more in socal, I want a pair of skis that are more suited for all mountain/ park skiing (my whole life I've skiied areas more akin to back country) I've never owned a good pair of my own shit because I usually borrow stuff and usually just demo skis when I go to Utah ( because I'm spoiled by the fam haha). I'm trying to learn the ways of the park now that i wanna ski so cal more because the snow is shit, but i'm also a pretty good skiier in areas such as steeps and downhill and I can only afford one pair of skis so I have a dillemna where i want some nice skis for some hardcore steep mogul stuff, but also skis I can use to learn how to ski the terrain parks of socal. I've been looking at the jski allplays and libtech wreckreates, and demoed the Armada Arvti's a couple of weeks ago which were sweet but a bit stiffer than I'd like and a bit wide for socal. I was wondering what you guys think would be a good fit for me ski wise? And as for bindings I was thinking of marker gryphon schizos. I'm 5' 9" 170lbs I do level 3 when I demo skis and what not Thanks!
I struggled to read that so I'm just gonna suggest TBK ski co.
id check out kartel 98's and if you want a skinner ski look at the Shredditor 92 also i think your binding choice is a good one
I would look into line skis. Relatively low cost and super high quality. I also really like the Rossignol FKS bindings. Marker bindings are all plastic and are constantly in for warranty. Your ski choice seems decent but you'll be disappointed with the bindings.

Poor materials but they are affordable
I thought the schizo's would be cool cuz you could change their position for park vs all mtn, If I didn't get those where would you reccomend placing the bindings?
The armada artvi will get softer as you break them in but id check ut the rossignol slat everyone ive talked to who rides them says they love them i think they are underrated love mine

Heads up OP this is sarcasm DONT get tbk ski co skis (if they ever even start production)
+1 for rossignol slat. You can find them super cheap and they are really fun
Check out something from faction (candide 1.0 possibly) they make great durable skis and i find that all their skis can be skied all over the mountain. Check out the salomon sth for bindings and the tyrolia attack as well.
