So i was skiing at my local mountain this weekend when my friend and i met a guy that works for subaru (who was putting on an event) that was riding some nordica soul riders that he was given by nordica who was working with subrau. Anyways, he was telling us that he heard of some pros like Kieran Mcveigh putting their skis in a bathroom with the shower running super hot and flexed with cinderblocks or something to make them more flexible. I was wondering if any of you had more info on this as i have some AR7's that id like to be more flexible
If you have to put in that much effort in order to break in your skis why wouldn't you just buy a softer ski to begin with? Not to mention that completely goes against warranty and it could mess up your skis. Steam vegetables, not skis bro
This is so stupid. Buy softer skis than. Never understood the lure of soft skis other than being able to butter. Lost all stability and wash out like noodles.
Haha, putting skis in a steamy bathroom would do absolutely nothing. Just think that through for a second there.
whatever works man. you gotta do what you gotta do
I remember when i was a gaper and couldnt butter i tried to flex my skis with a clamp and books wedged between the contact points, they became so flexy that my roommate snapped one of the tails hand flexing the ski dont risk it dog. If you really want to get your skis flexing more I suggest flexing your skis more when you ride. Any ski I find too stiff for me by the time half the season goes by I'm usually like fuck too buttery or washy. Going to full camber for this reason.
Steam or Get Full Tilts.... your choice my friend.

this.
Skis are waterproof, hows the steam gonna do anything? that said flexing the shit outta skis a bunch will make them softer (and microfracture the composite structure so they break sooner)
Easier way: Clamp them in the middle and put wood blocks in the tip and tail.
Most practical way: Just ski them
