I went to set a flat 3, got upside down, missed the grab, stopped in the air....luckily recovered and landed on my side, but that really sucked.....getting over 30 sucks. Has this ever happened to anyone? I can't believe I didnt even land on my skis, it weird and scary.
prolly forgot to pop well and focus enough on bringing the trick around. sounds like you just got ahead of yourself, chucked off the lip and got stuck updside down from there. happens.. but if you focus on gracefully popping and throwing the trick together in one motion, you should make it around no matter what your age
So many people are paranoid about ageing. If you're 14 and you do that it's just a newb mistake but at 30 oh it's coz you're old. lol. Otherwise you would be Tom Wallisch right?

I feel like people start to psych themselves out a lot
Crashes are mistakes and mistakes can be overcome with practice. If something like that happens, its a good idea to try it again before the bad memory becomes overwhelming.
Im 28 with 5 situations that should have killed me, but I learnt from those experiences. Stuff from a half ton boulder crashing 3 feet away from me to outskiing a category 2 hard slab avalanche. Scary stuff happens all the time; its how you deal with it that carves personality.

yeah this happened to me the other day, i find that if this is happening your prob setting it wrong i stopped doing mine because doing a wackflip is just about the sketchiest feeling in the air, i gotta go back to the tramp and learn how to actually set a flat which is more like a lincoln and a spin combined in my opinion. if you are setting a true flat 3 you prob were just unlucky. goodluck with it.
I've had a couple times trying flat 3's along with lincons where I set it to late or was just thinking about the grab coming up to the jump which alimentally fucked the rotation of the flip. Just wipe it off and try it in a day or 2
I lost 3's. Fucking 3's! At the age of 20. I just took them to a smaller jump, watched myself on Video and figured out what I was doing wrong. I don't really know what caused it but as soon as I actually though about what i was doing and broke things down i got them back again pretty easy. Probably the same thing. Good Luck!

I started to lose tricks shortly after 30, I'm nervous doing backies even after going more than a decade without missing one. A big part of it is core strength, the muscle memory is still there, just the core can't keep up. You get older don't get As much exercise as before, maybe put on a few pounds. Might have to get to the gym
