A local sporting goods store has a pair of 2014 Line Chronic skis on the shelf that I've been eyeballing for the past month-ish. The only problem I have is that they are full price. The new 2016 chronic are also on the shelf and 20 bucks cheaper. Would it be worth my while to try and get them to knock some off? They are the ones I REALLY want versus other that I would settle with. Any and all feedback is appreciated, Thanks
Why not get the 2016s? IMO graphic on the 2016 is better. Its the same ski , get the cheaper one. But yah the store is also on drugs

I think thats just it, its like, just your option, dude. He obv likes the older graphics better.
OP go in with an idea of what they are going for online, and try to barter with them. Be like I want to support you guys being a local shop and all. Keep in mind that paying a little extra is usually worth it bc you wont pay for mounting, youre getting the skis that day, plus who doesnt like to help out the local economy.
the fact that its a discontinued construction (maplelite "snapcore" in the 2014 vs macroblock in the 2016) would probably help, not sure how you would actually go about talking a shop down though
Just ask I know there are a couple shops where I live that leave the price at the original msrp Incase some sucker comes in and doesn't know any better. It's really simple "hey do you have any deals on last seasons gear in particular these skis?" Most shops are pretty reasonable if you are polite about it.

Second this.
**update** I went in and found out they were the 2015 models and I put them on layaway took them from $520 USD to $420 USD. Over all not that bad.
it can't hurt to negotiate but make sure you talk to someone who can hook you up not some random kid

The guy who sold them too me extended my layaway period AND tossed in some free stuff that were display models and gave me 50% bindings and boots of my choice.
