I got these skis less than a month ago off the 4FRNT website. I love the skis but when I went to wax them I noticed that I had dented the edge and it caused a bump in the base. It also is delaming a little bit. Im not sure what it came from as i don't remember any hard impact from a rail or rock. Its a little disappointing as Ive used them around 5 days but i get that it happens. Do you think that there is any way that they would warranty the ski? If you guys think warranty is out of the question how would you go about fixing the damage. I don't have a local shop so having a professional fix the damage is not possible. Thanks for any advice! +k for help.
Thats impact damage. Whether you remember doing it or not, you did. They wont warranty them b/c its impact damage, but they may fix it for you for a small fee. Call or email them to find out.
Okay! Thats what I figured. Not denying I did hit something haha.
Whats the sidewall look like? You may be able to get away with skiing it as is with no side effects.
use hammer/chisel and flatten edge. spread base/sidewall with some small finishing nails. fill with marine epoxy. clamp with scarpers on top-sheet/base. fill any damage in sidewall with ptex. should be fine.
-peteduncan-got a little rusty overnight but here it is.
Im confused by what Im looking at perspective wise. Is the delam you steap of between the topsheet and the sidewall, or the edge and sidewall?

You need to HEAT the base before you use a RUBBER MALLET to flatten the base, and ptex wont be a permanent seal. Itll crack and fall out. Just use marine epoxy to bind and seal everything. I will saw that your finishing nail idea to allow more epoxy to fill the void is a good idea tho!

Valid point. When I have done similar repairs to the damage pictured I didn't have to flatten the base. Once the edge was straightened it just flattened on it's own. Never had a problem with ptex falling out of the sidewall, but I'm a fan of epoxy overkill.
