So I've been skiing the features at loon quite a bit and I recently learned kfeds and 450s out I got 450s out of the flat box like almost every time, to the point where I can atleast get the spin good at first and I can kfed on the wide tube rail that you ride up the side of it to get onto. This is my second season on skis so I'm pretty stoked I was able to get them on some easier features and when I went to Sunday river today which recently opened the rails in t72 I was really looking forward on trying them on some features there but for some reason I feel like I got stoked out or something. Like a lot of the features had really weird lips onto the rails, almost like they built small skateboard quarter pipes onto them instead of cheese wedge type lips and when I'd try to come in quick I would just get popped up high and slam my skis on the rail and just wasn't able to really get any of my good rail tricks on them. I'm not sure if I need to practice more on smaller features first then take them to harder ones. Part of me feels like I'm used to the perfect loon rails and the sort of sketchy lips onto the rails messed me up but idc I wanna be able to nail those tricks every time. To get a sense of how these lips are up to the rails I literally back flipped of the side of one several times. But any tips on how to get these tricks to bigger features, just feeling bummed out.
I'm sorry to hear you bummed man.
Sounds like you have a natural talent. You can 450 and k-fed.
It is only your second season on skis! Wow.
You have come to newschoolers looking for support.
I am here to give you support.
Stop being a pussy.
That is all
Anguz_liConfidence is key my friend
For sure but I feel like because of the sketchy features I was lacking that confidence I needed, that's no excuse but still.

Word, that's the straight up truth I think. Next time I go to Sunday I'm gonna not be such a bitch and try and throw it on some bigger features no matter how sketch they might be, could just add to the coolness factor!
Maybe work up to it? Big feature are scary because of the consequences. But if you know you can nail it, just do it.
Hey brotha right there with you, I got my all 4 2s out. Kfed ray fed, swaps to blind, surfaces etc. And am in the same boat as you 2nd season. And now wanting to send it on the fat rails but the lips are the same. Ive spent a few days working on letting those lips pop you and try to finesse onto the rail. I'm going with the confidence factor of going faster and bigger trips you up a little. I'm going to try my first real swaps on a non flat rail today and will let you know if anything helped me get past the fear

vid or it didnt happen. if you're gonna make claims gotta back em lol. tramps dont count
Some places build differently. that said there is also a getting used to another park sometimes. Some of that can be mental.
Maybe its just not your style. Only thing you can do is spin some laps till you adjust or go somewhere else
When you're at loon dont throw them on a only one feature try them and learn them on all. Its seemng to me like you're just super used to one rail and when trying to bringing it to another one you just weren't used to it.

I was making fun of you
I have a similar problem. I think you just get used to hitting features at your home mountain or wherever you ski most. I ski at Killy and I've gone to Stowe a couple times and their park tends to bring me right back to my first time skiing park. Plus their rails are red and I get red paint all over my gear so fuck that.
