What's the full story of silent rock. You know the rock you drive by on 26 when you are going to hood. Why is it a thing? I heard that a school bus full of kids went of the cliff. It used to be an Indian burial ground. People where thrown off of the cliffs with rocks in their mouths to make them silent. What have you heard?
The first time someone explained it to me I was at MHSSC and someone said its respect because a windells bus full of kids drove off the edge there
I don't know what the actual full story is, but the first time I talked past silent rock I broke my leg skiing the next day, and then I accidentally kept my music on past it on the way to a hike in Welches and I rolled my ankle so bad I couldn't fit it in my boot.

As someone who is moving out to Hood this summer, I would like to know what this is all about so I do not die. Pls and thx (:
I had never heard of this before, but I was curious so I googled it.

That's what I found for the first result. Definitely interesting.
They say you can hike to the bottom of the ravine and still find parts of the bus
Fred_BearIf im ever near there im gonna fart on it
sbd?
Can't imagine windells would be where it is now if a bus of kids drove off it, I just heard its a burial ground and that Tim windell gapped it way back. I miss Hood
A lot of tragedies have happened at Silent Rock. Most of the stories are true. There was also a van with a rock band that crashed after passing Silent Rock in the 80's. Story is they were having an argument about money and neglected to shut up when they passed the rock. A short while later they hit ice and flipped which killed one of the band members.
cornholiosbd?
But if its silent it wont be deadly...
Nah im gonna rumble that rock

It's kinda hard to explain where it is, but if you're ever driving with someone who knows where it is ask them to point it out. But once you know where it is the rules pretty much are don't talk or play music when you go past it, and personally hold my breath just because I've had such bad luck with it. To give you a general idea of where it is, it's between Portland and Govy, not Hood River, if you're familiar with the general geography.
