I’d love to get your feedback on a project I am working on in action sports. Here is a link to a landing page that fully describes the idea. http://www.reddyyeti.com/ If you like the idea, I’d be incredibly appreciative if you could subscribe and share it on social media and with friends that you feel would like it, thanks!
seems cool actually. The giveaway thing is cool but I'd also like to see a list feature where you can see what some of those companies are. Or you could also do a feature where companies can list special deals so everyone can have access to all the companies products and not just the people who win the giveaways. But on the plus side, the website looks very clean and professional
I really appreciate the feedback. So we are still in the beginning stages of this project and all of the brands that we are in contact with said they love the idea and would totally be down for it if we could prove the idea by building a list of interested consumers. So this page is us trying to do that. Our goal is 1000 subscribers by January 31st we launched is on the 23rd and are up to 120. We still have a long way to go but so far the feedback has been pretty positive.
I think your deals idea is a good one. After we have a few giveaways, I was thinking we would create a section that lists all the brands we have ever done a giveaway for and their products periodically offering discounts for those products. What do you think?
Is it just brands having to do with skiing or...?
Love the idea! Website seems very neat, ima suscribe right now! Hope this works out
I think a key to making the website functional is a well made interface with all the brands and a link to their product. I think in the future gear reviews would be awesome, cos we never know much abput the performance of indy/upcoming brands!
Seems like a good idea. Do you have a list of the companies involved? Would be cool to see them and a short description/link to website before they start coming out one site at a time.
Also, I go to Fordham Prep so yeah...
Seems like an interesting project, nice way to shed some light on the small companies and projects. Hope you guys reach the goal of 1000 subscribers.
Might be interesting to incorporate a fairly basic forum into your website. When the start-ups are announced a topic can be created for the specific start up where the community can post their questions and thoughts on the start-up and their product.
This could create a conversation or debate between the community and the start-up, which could complement the write-up and create a greater sense of involvement. Or might lead to some new interesting ideas.
What scale are you guys trying to achieve? Is it only North-American? Or are you reaching for a more global scale?
I can understand, if you are from the US, that it is easier to find and approach US start-ups. But would you be willing to have a more global community?

I'm assuming you're promoting your site on more places than just NS? If not then it's going to be way more difficult the get subscribers. You need to promote this on all other sites that appeal to the companies that you are promoting. Also Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, promote YOURSELF with reddyyeti on LinkedIn, etc. Anyway that you can get yourself to your target market you need to do.
I like the idea and concept! You have some descriptions that are weirdly all caps though.
I really appreciate the feedback guys.
RudyGarmisch: It would include Skiing, Snowboarding, Climbing, Hiking, Mtn. Biking, Skateboarding, Camping, Kayaking, & Surfing
Isis_rocks: We have a few brands that we are communicating with. Once we hit our goal of 1000 subscribers we will publish the details for our first giveaway. We are hoping to launch the first giveaway mid February, but that all depends on our growth. Hope you are going where there are mountains for college ha
enso: I think your forum idea is awesome. I will defiantly work that into the site. We are thinking global, Why limit us to just the US? There are awesome startups from all over the world.
JAHpow: Yes we are! We have built pages on all the big social media sites and we are working on the big media sites like unofficial networks, skiing etc. What in caps don't you like?
I'd really appreciate it if you guys could share the site with friends that would also be interested in the idea!
Thanks again,
Josh
Very cool idea. It's nice to see others with the entrepreneurial spirit. Keep up the good work and you'll go far.
Hey Guys,
I reached out a little while back about a project that I was working on that helped startups in action sports grow through seasonal giveaways. We just launched our first giveaway today and you can win a pair of Slant Skis, a custom jacket from NWT3K, a pair of Char poles and a day pack from Hemeitc trading Co.

Check it out and please share it with friends to help build exposure for these brands! Thanks.
Such a good idea, Its awesome how your pushing all of the smaller brands really respect that.
As a Website Designer/Developer myself, you've done a nice job with the website, Well designed and functional and I really like the branding.
I hope it all works out dude.
Great way to support the ski industry and give some riders a chance for free gear. entered!
Thanks guys, super stoked that you guys like the idea. If you could share it with your friends the brands would greatly appreciate it!
Also if you have any ideas on how to improve it, I'd love to heard them.
Cheers,
Josh
I like this a lot. I think it represents the kind of creative thinking necessary to get small companies exposure while benefiting the customer. I'm a lot more interested in a company advertising through Red Yeti than buying ad space on YouTube videos, since I like the chance of winning free gear and I don't like seeing advertisements.
~Gotama~ Glad you are a fan. Our goal is to build trust with our audience and eventually have them pick the brands that we promote. So, say there is a small ski company based in Lake Placid and a handful of our subscribers love what they are doing and know their products are awesome. Then they can send that band to us and we can showcase them in one of the giveaways.
We want the consumer to have complete control over who gets the exposure not just a handful of the big media sites.
