All of his edits only consist of big spins or big spins out of/on to rails. I just saw his redbull "SuperInvention" edit and while it was pretty amazing some of the tricks that he was able to pull of, it's clear that he's become a key contributor to why freeskiing has developed into only big spins. I know I'm hating on this kid for only trying to progress the sport, and he's a far better skier than I could've ever dreamt on becoming, but he's progressed the sport in the wrong direction.
meh,
but that shot where he 450's on and misty 4 or 6's??? out is bullshit. Had a piece of metal that basically set the flip out for him and all he did was spin out basically.
2/10 wouldn't bang/watch again.
let the gap between videogame comp skiers and style film skiers widen
also the switch frontflip switch up was amazing
I thought Unrailistic was pretty cool. I'm not really a fan of massive spins, but you're kind of a badass if you can consistently do tricks no one has ever done before. People can do future spins all they want as long as I can keep the watching super slow and styley tricks that are posted to NS everyday.
Skiing is being taken many different directions, Jesper's future spins are only one of those directions.
Instead of being psyched out by that edit; take it as an inspiration. See it as how one person interprets skiing in his own way and a huge budget.
But look at all the aspects of skiing. They are all dominated by ridiculous athletes doing insane things. Think Morrison, Hoji, Abma in the back country. Look at moguls, racing... you have to face it that a lot of people will be better than you. But, find their weakness and make it your strength.
Let the guy ski and have fun. Isn't that what skiing is all about? Freeskiing has little rules which makes it great so why hate on people for doing their own thing? Grow up.
Op loves real skifi and Traveling Circus, hates on Jesper.

you must think you're sick

I think skiing should have more rules
You're an idiot. There's no "wrong direction" to push skiing. The bunch are pushing skiing in one direction, so is Stept, and so is Jesper. Skiing can be pushed different ways and just because one group or person is pushing it one way that doesn't mean they're ruining the sport
I think some of his stuff is amazing but other edits of his are only so so. He is such an inventor for the sport but he makes some of it too easy.
JohwdannnnI think skiing should have more rules
i think you should never try reproducing.

Spot on.
"I love freeskiing because I can do whatever I want to do however I want to do it without being judged or told I'm doing it wrong."
*watches an edit*
"That guy isn't skiing the right way, fuck him, he's ruining the sport."
NS logic: never fails.
You are missing the point, people get sick of seeing the same thing, if all skiing consisted of was perfect cork 3s and nose butters skiing would be fucking boring. Jesper is pushing the limits of what's possible and how much you can spin, but he is doing it in creative and stylish ways at the same time. I mean how many people have landed or tried switch triple front flips, switch back flips off of tiny fucking c boxes, and he practically invented pre grabs. This is freestyle skiing, let everyone interrupt it how they want, cork 9 swaps aren't going to stop others from doing "slow stylish spins"
"I just watched an edit of someone skiing not the way I want them to ski! HE IS RUINING SKIING!"
That's what you sound like... pretty absurd, right?
JohwdannnnI think skiing should have more rules
Shut up op you are wrong there is no wrong way to push skiing its about fun not how you get there. is jespers skiing affect you AT ALL no so why care
Have you seen the things Jesper does in the streets? Kid is putting his life on the line to push urban skiing forward. Serious props, one of the best out and seems like a super nice kid.
I just wanted to add that after his performance at 9 Knights, you should be ashamed of this thread.
He stomps everything so cleanly. He's like a robot.
If you hate on that then you're like the worst kind of snob, one that won't even recognize greatness when it's right in your face. He pretty much took the "bucket list" of insanely risky/difficult air-rail tricks and checked off whatever was left.
OP you are my least favorite type of person in the freeskiing community. Jesus Christ dude can you find anything else to complain about?! What he did was absolutely crazy whether you like it or not, and regardless it has absolutely ZERO affect on you as a person. Tell me how Jesper throwing some crazy tricks onto rails affects you personally when you're *freeskiing*
It doesn't. Now quit worrying about how other people ski and go have some fun doing it your way, which you apparently think is how everyone else should. This ridiculous argument sounds like something my crazy ex girlfriend would try to start a fight with ffs
Real skifi + Jesper = greatest edit of all time?
Inevitably you're on the losing side of this battle. No one ever looks down on progression long after the fact. Theres always the haters at first but they learn to live with it because everyone just respects it as evolution and thats everyones goal anyways isnt it?
I don't know what you're talking about op, that edit was the craziest thing I have seen in a long time, it's more impressive than pretty much any edit that has come out and requires 100 times more skill than the stuff the bunch comes out with (I still dig the stuff the bunch has been coming out with tho)
I think OP should give up freeskiing and get some tight pants and try ski racing and go fast. If you aren't first you're last. No room for interpretation. Just point them straight and pray.
Backyard.Skiermeh, but that shot where he 450's on and misty 4 or 6's??? out is bullshit. Had a piece of metal that basically set the flip out for him and all he did was spin out basically.

Really? That was tight... He was going fast as fuck sideways into a piece of metal, and it set his spin but he was still able to keep it at the speed he wanted and landed it.
Also this thread is fucking stupid. I'm not the biggest fan of big spins either but you can't tell me it wasn't sick. Besides, there's still tons of shit you can watch that's super mellow and with slower, smaller spins. If you don't like that, watch a Henrik edit. That's the beauty of free skiing, you can do it how you want.
I see op's point
And throw it in the garbage. Jesper is dope and people like you are taking freeskiing, a sport based on creativity and positivity, in the wrong direction (hating)
Bye
fuck outta here turds like you are ruining skiing
chubbspetersonalso the switch frontflip switch up was amazing
As someone who can switch front flip it took me about 5 tries and every time I landed it was so sketchy, I can't even imagine trying it on a box.
didn't realize everybody on here was bearing his child
I don't get why freeskiing suddenly has to go one way or the other. Up until now it's been one big community, so why change that.
JohwdannnnI think skiing should have more rules- Hitler
.
are you fucking serious? just because he didn't do a real "progressive" back swap to switch, or a "sick" tail press, doesn't mean he's ruining skiing. you idiots figure that just because someone throws insanely hard tricks, they have no style, thats fucking stupid. Jesper has dope style and just dropped what will probably be the best edit to drop for the next few years, and you guys still hate... god damn I'm about to quit this website and never come back
Jesper isn't taking skiing in the wrong direction, I think he is just taking it into a direction that has hardly been explored before
Let him do his stuff, and we'll do our stuff.
double post but i don't care. you guys need to step back and look at who's really ruining the sport, the ones bitching on ns whenever someone ridiculously good posts an edit, saying that he's ruining skiing, but will jerk off whenever someone does a "steezy" blind two(which all look the same from the "style guys", arms flailing etc), or the ones going out there, posting edits where 90% of the tricks have never been done, and 100% are mind boggling.
wow I'm amazed this thread made it to Facebook
Lol. Jesper tjader and the rest of comp skiers could easily do some weird bouncy small shit like the bunch and wear super gangster or hesh clothing and all these kids who are still working on their front 270s would start praising them like, "OMFG!!! Style!!!! The future of skiing!!! Fuck competition skiers!!!"
Backyard.Skiermeh, but that shot where he 450's on and misty 4 or 6's??? out is bullshit. Had a piece of metal that basically set the flip out for him and all he did was spin out basically.
2/10 wouldn't bang/watch again.
Go and try it your self...
I think Jesper is only skier that is crazy enough for tricks like that! Maybe the scariest thing to have is a piece of metal at the end of a rail.
It's all about the after bang. I love the dude. The only thing I have against him is that he lands / goes for 0 style points. Skiing is style points.
Are you really still throwing shit on future spins and skier who can do them? Come on, freesking is never been more free than these days! You can be whatever kind of skier you want... You can throw big spins o keep on going on super smooth slow rotations... You can wear whatever you want, you don't have to wear XXXXL stuff to be considered stylish like back in the days... Jeeper is one of the innovetors of this sport and he's one of the kindest people you can meet in this work, he puts all he can to push the scene, both in park or streets... I think sayin' he has ruined skiing is one of the biggest bullshits you could have said
How can you hate Jesper. All about good vibes and fun. And that's the point of freeskiing. To be creative and express yourself and do whatever you want. If you don't like big spins don't spin big. Have fun sliding down the snow and create good vibes that is what this sport is about
i don't know what the fuck you're talking about
i can kinda understand when people hate on future-spins if they're ugly or the landing is super sketchy and the only merit of the trick is the rotation but Jesper does all of this shit with style and some of the cleanest landings ever, i just don't see what you could possibly be hating on
there are plenty of skiers out there steezing out tail presses and cool grabs in cork 5's, if that's what you're looking for then just don't pay attention to Jesper, because he's the only guy doing these tricks and i think 99% of the people on here want to see them and you just have no idea what you're talking about
the last 4 or 5 tricks in his supervention super edit are ridiculous, you can't argue that they're "only big spins"
I agree. You should be ashamed of this thread.
I've been following Jesper for a few years now, and I can honestly say he is one of my favourite skiers. Now, I am not a huge fan of spinning-to-win, but I sure as hell respect it. I don't have the balls to do anything he does, and neither does the majority of the ski community. Give credit where credit is due.
Also, I think Jesper is super creative, but creativity does not equal simplicity. All these "stylish" skiers are commended for being creative by refining the less technical tricks (which they are, of course), but that's only one type. Creativity doesn't have boundaries, and neither should skiing.
Lastly, I don't think there has been an edit where I haven't seen the guy smiling from ear to ear. He's such a positive dude, and I can't believe you're trying to hate on him for doing his thing. But you're entitled to your opinion, of course...
In no way shape or form has Jesper ruined the sport of skiing. He is progressing his stye skiing in a different direction than what you may think is right, but that doesn't mean that he wrong. In skiing everybody has their own unique style, and just because his is different than what you call "good" style doesn't mean that he lacks style or ruined the sport. He is doing what he can to progress the sport in his own eyes. The fact that you say he has ruined it is disheartening because as a skier you should understand and respect that everybody has their own style and idea of where they wanna take their skiing.
You can't really say that skiing is progressing in the wrong direction while heroes like b&e&crew are pushing style to never before seen limits. All that's missing is some heavily style focused component to competition... but even that's neither here nor there. Let the spin to win continue, for science!
