Is Tyrolia a good company? I was thinking about buying the Atomix Punx 2014's and getting Tyrolia D11 bindings. Does that sound like a solid set up?
Some more info: My height is 6'2, I weigh 230. I ski at an advanced level. What din would you guys recommend?
Id go with atleast a 13 din binding, even if you only use like a 9 din, the durability is so much better imo. If you look at tyrolia id go with attack 13s or even 16s, depending on ur din, but most likely 13. I just rode my attack 13s 2 days ago fr the first time and really enjoyed them
Tyrolia is a good company but d11's are low end recreational bindings. You want something with at least a max din of 13 or 14 at your height and weight. I would suggest the Tyrolia attack 13 or 16, Tyrolia mojo 15 or 18, the Look pivot or rossignol fks 14 or 18, the salomon sth 13 or 16 and the marker griffon, jester or jester pro (probably not the griffon).

Also thinking about ski size. I was thinking 176. While that might be short, they are better at spinning. I could go with something above 180 though.
This continues to probably be the best deal on bindings I've seen anywhere and would definitely recommend them (I have the 18 din, 4frnt version)

(if you want something beefier, which you probably don't need)

At your height and weight you need something above 180 for your skiing's sake. I ski 186 at 5'11 150lbs and have no problem spinning. At 230lbs you should be plenty strong enough to spin 180+. Especially if you center mount, you need the longest skis available in whatever model you get with your size.

Would the head mojo 15 work on the punx?
AgitatedHiatusWould the head mojo 15 work on the punx?
literally the majority of the bindings out there work, it depends on din, durability you need, what type of skiing you do, your budget. You'll need the correct brake size as well.

Pretty much any binding will work on any ski. It's just a matter of what you're looking for in a binding. The mojo 15 is a good, solid, reliable binding that is probably going to outlive your skis.
I'm taller and weigh the same as you, I own nothing below a 188... Tyrolia wise I have Peak 18's on my rock skis, Peak / Mojo / Padlock / Thunderbolt 18s are all the same and would do you well. Also STH 16s or Pivot 18s are your friends when your our size.

The mojo is a 97mm brake size.
Here's the info on the punx I'm buying and the maximum DIN is 15.
Your Height: 5'10, 6', 6'2, 6'4, 6'6+
Ski Size: 182cm
Ski Turn Radius: 26m
Ski Sidecut: 112.5-84-112.5mm
SKU: 35866
Weight (lbs): 9.15
I'm happy you guys are actually educating me instead of being jerks about it. I'm asking all these questions because I honestly have no idea and I want to learn.
Are you planning on just skiing park? Theres a load of other options I would probably look at too. Nothing wrong with your binding choice in a Mojo 15.
Tyrolia make the bindings and Head and 4FRNT re brand them, the Mojo (head) and Padlock, Dead Bolt, Thunderbolt are 4FRNT, Liberty use re branded Tyrolias as well.
Be careful with the 4FRNT ones as the names don't always match the DIN setting year on year. Theres nothing wrong with them but check the DIN setting in the ad 1st. With Head its always been Mojo.

I plan on doing both park and mountain. Can you answer my question? Will a 97mm brake work on the 2015 punx?

The waist width of them is 80-89 mm so a 97 should be okay.

If the waist width of the puns is 84, the mojo 15's on level9 should work fine with a 97 brake. The general rule of thumb is that the brake width should always be equal to or wider than your ski, but no less than 15mm wider. So 97 - 84 = 13. 13 is less than 15 so you should be good to go.

For real. I'm tiny and I've given up on pivots without the metal toe. 18's or the old 155's for the win.

They really should do a 6-16 Din all metal version, I think that would cover 99% of the market for that binding. For the race crowd who all need a higher din most manufactures race bindings are now totally separate entities or designed to mount with retainer and flex systems. even Tyrolia now have separate race and freeride bindings, they were one of the last to keep some commonality between them.
the d (defiance) 11 is a cheap tyro peak 11
l9 had tyro make 4 them
if youre lightweight and aint pushin it could work
ld 12's are good binders for the $$ as are attaack 13
mojos 15 are solid at that price especicaly w/ a free mount

Yuuup. Look doesn't even use the pivot for racing anymore.
I bought the 2015 Atomic Punx with the Head Mojo 15's. Thanks for your help everyone.
