So my old pair of skis which I have been riding on for over a year had super dull edges. Now my new skis have super sharp edges. Will there be any difference on rails or anything else besides just carving?
Thanks.

obviously they will probably catch on rails if they're brand new. detune them or you can just hit rails until they dull down a bit. I'd reccomend detuning them first though because catching edges can fuck up the edge
I had the same problem. I bought a new pair and the edges were sharp as fuck. I didn't want to screw with em and detune so I just used them on an urban rail when they were still factory tuned, didn't even notice
sharp edges definitely bite in on pvc rails, but dont worry about regular park rails just detune them a bit
i would detune them otherwise youll get edge cracks a lot easier, you will notice the sharpness for about the first week if you ride a lot of rails. after that they will feel normal
Detuning will make your edges last longer on rails as well as keep them from catching. I keep some sharpness in the shovel of the ski at the tip and the tail to help hold an edge on icy days but also be able to hit rails well.
