I need to write an essay for a class and it needs to be an argumentative essay. It can't be something that has been overdone (For example legalization of marijuana). It doesn't have to be a specific length either. Help me ns pls
Right-to-die/physician-assisted suicides is a good one.
.MASSHOLE.Right-to-die/physician-assisted suicides is a good one.
That would be a good one if I didn't already use it for an essay in the same class lol
I find it is easier to write about current topics so with that in mind.
-European Refugee crisis
-How (insert country) should handle ISIS? (bombing, troops on the ground, spec ops)
-Does Gun Control need reform? (USA)
-What is the most beneficial level of Immigration?
-Is the Election system fair? (could be done for USA or UK don't about others)
-Is torture ever acceptable?
-Is the Death penalty outdated?
I don't know where your from so some of those might be difficult to pull off but there are a few. Good luck with your essay.
P.S I also find that if you do a topic you don't know much about then you don't have a obvious opinion and bias beforehand and therefore write a better essay.
Will autonomous vehicles have a positive effect on society?
Should Indian tribes have equal slot limits as everyone else.
Should mandatory minnimums be decreased/increased?
Is media bias good for our nation?

Try to avoid writing about a subject on which someone could write/has written many books, since your paper will undoubtedly be too broad in scope and not long enough to delve into important details. While it's easy to pick a huge topic, I would recommend narrowing your focus within that topic so your essay can be a valuable research asset as opposed to a general summary of news articles

How does "Should Scientists Try to Help People Beat Old Age So We Can Live Longer Lives?" sound?
AgitatedHiatusHow does "Should Scientists Try to Help People Beat Old Age So We Can Live Longer Lives?" sound?
What does "beating old age" mean? Isn't that just general scientific advancement? The average lifespan used to be like 35 (though a bunch of people still lived to be "normal" old ages but the infant mortality rate was so high it skewed the average down to a much younger age) and now we have people living over 100. Are you talking general health and wellness prolonging longevity or like crazy cyborg modifications to make people live longer? And when do those modifications deviate from simply continuing scientific progress? If you argue against that, couldn't you argue that the "natural" aging process should be devoid of ANY form of chemical substance at any point? Where do you draw the line?
If you're interested in stuff like this you should write about 3D printed body parts since that's fucking awesome.

Anywhere near the mississippi? You could do how fuckin with ole muddy upstream floods shit downstream
War on drugs
Rescheduling of pharmaceutical drugs
The use of psychedelics for therapy
Yes, I like drugs
JustGoWithItWill autonomous vehicles have a positive effect on society?
I actually just finished reading an article on this where they're talking about how most airplanes and hotels will become obsolete now that everyone can sleep in their cars.

Yeah it really is amazing.
OP I did a persuasive essay on this earlier this year for a 1000 level writing course and found it to be a very easy topic. Theres a lot of information on it and it is one of those things that shouldnt be controversial but is as a result of ignorance. Therefor arguing for autonomous vehicles is rather easy.
Write on a local environmental issue. Is there a river nearby that they want to dredge? Write for or against it. Is there a local plant/animal population that is protected in such a way that it is halting a large project, such as the building of a shopping mall?
Or, write on greenspace, and how its "value" must be judged against the economic value of the physical area the greenspace occupies. Should cities use up every available plot for business and housing, or should greenspace be a consideration? Why or why not?
I just wrote one about making the average school day longer or keeping it the same length. Was very easy to write about, a lot of points for both sides of the argument. Do recommend.
blacks or whites?
Which colour looks the best on skis?
eradication of invasive species (ie: killing coyotes)
I did something along the line of "football should get rid of helmets"

Oh god, it's this thread again.
You can write about ANYTHING. The topic is meaningless for the most part. It's how you write it. You can write about why we would be better off if birds didn't exist, how driving a blue colored car makes you a bad person, how taking a shower shows that youre ignorant, that littering is cool as fuck and should be legal, that your campus should have koolaid in the water fountains.
Seriously people, get off the intrawebz and write yerrr damn papers.
Gun control, animal testing, decriminalization of drugs, abortion, advertisement of prescription medication, genetic modification before birth, and performance enhancing drugs in sports are a few that were done in my speech class recently.
TBK_ski.coLegalize Cocaine
Make TBK skis illegal, not like they will hit the market amyway... too soon?
Sno.eradication of invasive species (ie: killing coyotes)
To where are coyotes invasive? They are a native North American mammal, and their home range has spread a bit to places where wolves were wiped out (such as the Southeast). Other than that, they are certainly not an invasive specie. What you suggested is not a bad topic though - carp, starlings, and dozens more animals are certainly invasive and cause massive problems.

They are a non native invasive species in my area and legal to kill.
Sno.They are a non native invasive species in my area and legal to kill.
Ok--I should have said invasive species. Coyotes are an invasive species in my area. I was fairly certain the type that are everywhere around here aren't native, either, but I can't say that no coyotes are native to the Seattle area, period. I don't know that. Either way they are invasive and legal to kill and that is controversial and a good essay topic.
Just checked with my dad and he says they aren't native to this side of the mountains originally. I guess I will research it a bit but I was fairly certain that coyotes are native to sage land and wolves were native to forests and the lack of wolves has caused them to spread to areas where they weren't originally. If the word for that is not "non native" I guess we would be talking about semantics.
