Hey folks,
I am looking to purchase a pair of powder skis for the upcoming season. What do you guys think of the Line Mr Pollards Opus? Have you had any personal experience with them? If so, what do you think of the ski?
Thanks,
Sean.

Need some more info. Height, weight, skiing ability, what you like to ski, etc.
I have the 2013 model, 118 underfoot. I love them, they are super fun in the pow, nice and playful for manuverability in the trees, and can handle themselves on the hard pack. Can't comment on much more without more info.

I am 6'1, 195 lbs. I have been skiing for 18 years. I can handle myself in pretty much any skiing situation. Right now I am riding on a pair of Line Anthems from many years ago (the year with the wolf graphic). Since then I have grown away from the park and prefer tree skiing, backcountry, ripping through groomers, etc. I will keep the Line Anthems around for a ski to fool around on. I am picking up a stiffer all mountain ski like a Line Chronic or Line Blend to fulfill my all mountain needs. I would also like to add a fatter ski like the Opus to fulfill my powder needs.

Okay, well I'm like 5'8, and it's not floppy for me, but I sized up to mitigate this. I ride the 185's, and they are still pretty playful but I can drop decently sized cliffs and ride away on these. If you do any switch riding, you'll love these mounted at pollards choice. If you're into a more playful pow ski for doing some cliffs, buttering around, and playing around in the crud, these are a dope choice. If you want something a little harder charging for bigger cliffs and ripping fast through trees and down chutes, I'd look for something like the on3p jeffery, or armada JJ

Have you heard anything about the Surface Live Life or Surface Lab001?
I am ballin on a budget here so I am trying to get a good deal. I can get the Opus for $350 + shipping, Live Life 275+shipping and Lab001 350+shipping.

Naw never ski'd either of them, but I've heard good things about surface. You can try and look up reviews on here or on youtube too.

i'm not an opus fan myself because they are just wayyy to soft for me and i am 6'0" 165 but that being said i ski very aggressively and it's definitely a preference thing.
now the surfaces are literally the opposite they're generally as stiff as a race ski and we've got a running joke at the shop i work at that they're the only ski on the market that comes pre-broken as no other we've seen no other company with near as many core cracks, delams, or edge cracks than surface. i am in no way saying they ski badly, but they are not in the same league as the more high end ski companies. id take.
for that price range the best suggestion i can give you is probably this
or this

Interesting. I want a ski that will last so Surface's reputation with your shop makes me hesitant. Right now I am riding on Line Anthems and they are super soft which I got a little annoyed of as I put on more weight.
I appreciate your suggestions. I will look into them.
I am interested in a stiff powder ski within $250-$300.

is it necessary that they are twinned?
brov1is it necessary that they are twinned?
Not necessarily. I prefer twin tips, but I do not need them. My daily driver will be twinned for sure.
