Pretty simple question, Im interested in who you think has the best jobs in all of the ski industry.
It can be anyone from pros, filmers, media anything really. So if you could take one person in the industries job who would it be?

I'd love to work in a marketing office at a ski resort, ski company, or magazine.
Marketing in the real world can be kinda boring, but in the ski industry your product is fun.
fatbastardYesYes, the pay isn't great. But if you're thrifty like I am, you can sneak by, and the perks are these: live where you want, ski every day you're home, travel the world with a bunch of friends on someone else's dime, and film some sick things going down in the coolest places on earth. That does not suck. The stress level is generally low, even though you have a job to do and sometimes it's hard to view it that way. I consider it a dream job. One drawback is you might never grow up (if you consider that a drawback).
Ohh, don't get me wrong. a very large part of me is extremely jealous of you. but i have to convince myself im totally happy sitting at my desk right now, okay?
Jon Fucking Olson.

Not in the industry- but I think working for a landscape company is baller for skiing...slows down in the winter and you have some serious time to ski in the winter

So the best job in the industry is determined by someones Instagram account?

dudes got a mean-ass underbite and one of the worlds most punchable faces.

it's certainly a way to judge it
Peter.it's certainly a way to judge it
I strongly disagree, most people being mentioned in this thread are behind the scenes people who run large business etc. The only people being mentioned that might have a popular IG account is an athlete or an anomaly of gopro.

this is an opinion based question so how you judge it is your own opinion
there isn't some formula for best job. all i'm saying is that if they have a cool instagram, they are probably doing cool things, and probably have a cool job

I guess i'm just mostly shocked that people equate a popular IG account with the best jobs in the ski industry, that's all.

Idk if i would want to build skis. Last year i explored the idea of starting a ski company for a school project. to start a company took a lot of time and effort dont get me wrong, if you are really passionate about evolving the sport then thats the way to go!
The guys behind TBK Ski's have the best job in the industry. They don't even have to produce any product or sell anything and somehow profit.
I do. I get to boss around Steve and Durtschi all day.
.Fryabe kislevitzthe dude just films and skis all day eryday
True dat, all day eryday - that's all I do :)
Hahah - but yes in all honesty - I have a good job, however it's not all skiing; but, it is in line with my passions with is the key to any 'best job'. The 'best job' is different for the individual, but I would say the best job for you is the job that allows you to be who you are and do what you love in life. In my case, I'm really into technology, learning, creativity and skiing - and that's what my job allows me to do.
Filming.
Don't have to be an insanely good skiier, you get to hang with pros and travel the world, and do a job that allows you to express your creativity.
Mr.BishopIts OK man, you'll have a much better life on http://www.epicski.com
Ill have a much better life when you no longer run this site
onLINEAvalanche Dog Trainer.Who doesn't like skiing pow and chilling with dogs all day?
can vouch this is sick. also, throwing bombs and opening terrain does not suck

I really hope you're trolling but i doubt it... whats not to like about NS and Doug Bishop
Lift ticket scanner, always dreamed of being one when I was younger
Not gonna lie, my job is definitely pretty neat. Not for everyone, but out of the multiple jobs I've had in the industry this one is the coolest. No off season, get to work on badass machines and winter time is our slow time where the average work day consists of snowmobiling, firing lifts up and shredding.
I have to say the most fun job in skiing I've had is working terrain parks. Especially at an SPT Resort, Like North Star, Aspen/Snowmass, and my home resort, 7 Springs. Working at a mountain with a big park scene is great. Big name crews and pros are always rolling in, doing crazy shoots, and the parks are better every year. I really gives you a drive to get to be a part of something like that. But above all, You get to ski, all day. You get to shred the parks that you put yourself into, before anyone even shows up, until after everyone leaves. And although its usually a minimal paying job, fuck it. The stresses of life are minimal when you stand them next to life's satisfactions.

I tried to get a job at 7 springs 2010/2011 ish. Idk that I would have gotten the job anyway, but I got kind of ruled out for my distance away. I was like "I can move" but it didn't pan out.
Place seems sweet. Still have yet to ever make it there although I've been following what they've been doing the last few years.
But I agree, park lyfe is where it's at.
While I don't get paid, I'm a fan of my gig. I just know people, and post shit on Instagram.
I'm not a good skier, I'm a tele skier for fucks sake. But, I can leverage the fact that some people follow me on instagram. This has gotten me an ambassador job at Outdoor Tech, and I just applied for one the other day with a binding company and I feel confident.
It allowed me to go to WSI last year and successfully pitch the flabongo.
Basically, my job is to drink and snapchat, and sometimes I get to travel places. Hopefully I can expand that into a career, but I'm enjoying it.

That sounds pretty legit.
Probably someone who sells things or makes things. like level 1 for media or a ski designer, just because they have an actual steady job that pays.
