So just broke up with my girlfriend of 2 years. We are both going to be going separate ways in life and its pretty fucking shitty. I know it will get better with time, but fuck this sucks ass. So if you would be willing to try and cheer me up that would be great. Show me what the internet has to offer or advice, whatever you've got
I feel ya man. Broke up with my girl of 2.5 years about a month back. Shit sucks but you will get past it. My suggestion would be to watch every ski movie coming out. That will be a great distraction. Also just go be with your friends. They should realize whats up and help you. Good luck man.
I would show you what the internet has to offer but I'd probably get banned......

Not at that point in the breakup yet, but I get you
So my girlfriend recently moved down to San Diego for school, which already probably is a red flag for people reading, but she's determined to make it work(or should I say was) and kept on telling me how grateful she was that I was willing to stay with her even though it's long distance (live in WA) and how she was so sure everything would work and blah blah blah. Well she wanted me to come down and visit her like ASAP, so I bought a plane ticket about a month ago to go see her. Well this Friday is the day I was supposed o go down, but I get a text about 5 days ago about how suddenly she "needs space"(1200 miles isn't enough I guess) and that it isn't a great time for me to come (non refundable ticket)
So she needs a "break" for her to settle in more and not be so homesick. Girls are wack. I've got a bad feeling that things are just over now and it kinda sucks big time, seeing how everything was fine as of like a week ago, and nothing even happened, except her suddenly feeling overwhelmed in her new place. What's worse is when she says it's nothing I've done, and that the only thing I can do is give her more space for a bit till she is more happy down there and settled l (I guess that means little to no contact). what makes it more frustrating is I'm not sure if she wants to be done for good, or just for now, since girls are masters of mixed communication. One day I'll get the "thanks for being understanding blah blah I love you and don't want to lose you" then the next it's "I'm just not sure if I wanna stay together" and it seems to be back and forth.
I've been pretty bummed about this cuz she's an awesome girl and was so set on sticking it out even though the distance. It's still possible that she just wants a few weeks of focusing on herself, but I keep thinking about how that's gonna be hard to come back from due to the distance. I've got a feeling that absence does not in fact make the heart grow fonder as some say.
I'm pretty ready for it to snow here so I can just ski and distract myself with that. Seems problems aren't as bad when you can just hop in the car and go ski for a day to clear your mind. Fuck the offseason. Been riding my bike a lot more which is nice.
Not sure why I felt like I should post all this in your thread, but just needed to rant a bit about girls and end of relationships that seem so awesome and suddenly flip.
Good luck dude, girls can be crazy and have weird ways of dealing with things and people they care about. Hope everything works out well for ya and you move on clean and happy!
TLDR: breakups suck
go eat a hookers turd cutter out, heard dat solves breakup feelings

That fucking sucks man Im sorry to hear it. But I would kind of be in the same boat because im going to NZ in the spring and then next year off to college. And yeah maybe long distance would have worked but i didnt think I could spend the rest of my life with her and even if i did I dont think I've made it far enough in life to make that decision yet. Letting go is the hardest thing to do and for me its the right thing. I also think people (including myself) get too comfortable with just being in a relationship, and if you aren't getting that much out of it and you dont truly think you will spend your life with them, i think its better to just feel the pain now so you can grow and meet new people. Keep in mind this is coming from someone who just went through a breakup 30 minutes ago.
Just remember that there are plenty of other fish in the sea
but you're nowhere near the sea
You're in the desert
Alone

This comment is basically The entire Midwest. The girls that do look decent around here are boring as fuck and spend their lives on instagram. Haven't met a lot of girls that are as cool as they act online.
I would say go skiing, but there isn't any snow on the mountains yet... Sorry about your breakup man.
damn bro...vibes that sucks! Wasnt expecting that
TheFapNot at that point in the breakup yet, but I get you
Is it just me or is this, with your username, ironic?
Sorry but it was too easy... on a serious note vibes tho.

holy fuck that was funny
some kid somewhere has issues
Hey man, I've been in your shoes. Dated a girl from 2008 to 2010, I thought she could be the one, she cheated on me, we split, it sucked.
I was single for like a two and a half years and it fucking rocked, I lived with a couple buddies, worked and partied on off days. We'd bowl and drink at the local ally on Thursday nights. Hit up wing nights, skied all winter long when we weren't working. I didn't have a single care of that prior relationship. In that time there were a couple chicks that I wouldn't even call girl friends, we hung out, drank or skied or smoked a bowl and fucked. It was pretty awesome.
One day at a work associated kick ball event I met a girl, we talked and it was a good convo I didn't really think anything into it. The next day she invited me down to her home town for their summer festival and I went down, hung out with her and her friends and got hammered it was a party. Had an awesome night and we've been together ever since over two years now. Actually she is the one as I have been hunting for an engagement ring.
Don't know if it helps or not, but just sharing my experience with almost the same beginning. You never know what can happen next.

thanks man. For me its not that i feel hopeless or anything. The breakup was mutual and for the best so I just need shit to cheer me up. But hopefully my story ends up like your story
Sorry to hear it.

Hopefully that helps a bit.
Feel you bro. After being together basically 3 years my girlfriend and I split a few weeks before graduation, it was mutual, but sure seemed to come up quick. Took me the entire summer to get over it. Now I'm away at college and life is awesome. I look back on it and the timing was as perfect as it could be, seeing that I had all summer to pick up my shit and then have the freedom going in to a Big 10 university.
Looking back on it, you'll see that you learned a lot. And my ex? She's gone crazy. Talked all the time about how much she hated high school and wanted to leave but she stayed home and went to a community college and started dating a dude that was everything she said she wasn't attracted to, and he's still in high school. Her and her lifetime best friend don't even talk anymore. Just be the better person through it all. I took so much shit from her and her "friends" for things I didn't do, or things that got blown way out of proportion. My bros realized this and actually commended me on my character. Without me even saying anything, slowly more and more people realized who actually was in fault, including girls and quickly changed their opinions.
So now, I'm just grinding. I want her to see me at reunions and think "damn, I really fucked up" because I'm going to work my ass off until I'm successful. Not really looking for a girl anymore, just gonna do me and if a girl wants to come along the adventure with me then she's definitely worth my time.
As for now OP, just do things to keep yourself as busy as possible. I worked 7 jobs over the summer just to keep my mind off things. Plus direct deposit is nicer than goodnight texts anyway.

Yeah I already planned a bunch of visits to my friends who went to college, then I'm going to chile to backpack in patagonia and then off to new zealand and then college. But every day is so long it's jis shitty waiting
It is easy to stand pain, but hard to stand an itch. You may have tons of pain following a hard break up, but it is not nearly as bad as being with someone who you are 100% connected to or vice versa
If I were you Id go snort some coke, that helps me when im sad
