I know this should be in gear talk but I'm putting it here for the sake of getting replys... So next season I want to get either the 4frnt switchblades, on3p filthy rich, icelantic da'nollie or the Armada edollo. Which ones would you suggest? I can get 4frnts 40% of because I'm "sponsored".
If money is an issue, get the 4frnts. ON3P and Icelantic have some sick durability compared to any brand basically. I would go for the FRs or Da Nollies if money isn't a problem. You can score the Da Nollies for like half off on online stores like Skis.com and Backcountry.com. Then really its personal preference from the Frs and Da Nollies. Honestly, the Edollo is similar to the Da Nollie but a little less durability imo. 4frnts are stiffer than the rest so don't get those if you want a softer ski and don't have issues with your budget.
get the 4frnts, especially if you have the option to get them for cheap.
ive got the 4frnts, they are fucking aids if you ski outside of the park at all. unless you are skiing 100% in the park like not even skiing on a home trail get the 4frnts.
A few reasons why they have HIV:
1. Base are weak as piss. I've got about 30000000000000 core shots after 50 days of riding them.
2. edges are weak as piss. ive got about 30000000000000 edge cracks and a missing edge after 50 days of riding them.
I also want them to be very playful and flexy I spend 80% of my time in the park and about 50 50 jumps and rails
Switchblades fell apart on me after 3months of riding, danollies and FRs both lasted a season. Danollie is more fun though in my opinion, has a really cool flex profile
I'd look at the FR or Da Nollie. Switchblade are stiff and edges blow, Edollo blows outside the park basically. The FR is a little stiffer but very buttery and a little more stable because of that kn larger jumps. Da Nollies have a wider waist so may be better all mountain (couldn't tell you though) and are softer so a little less forgiving on back seat landings. They are also fun as fuck to ski on. Cant make a bad decision here
shouldnt you use the ski brand that your sponsored from?
I owned a pair of ON3P Filthy Rich's this past winter and they were an absolute blast to ski on. They were soft and playful, not to mention a very forgiving ski. Sure they are almost $600/pair, but the price is worth it for how durable the ski is and how thick the construction is to ensure that the ski won't break.
Haven't heard anything about the Icelantic Da'Nollies, however the Da'Nollie is slightly wider than the FR at 95mm under foot compared to 88mm underfoot on the FR.
Judging from the comments of other NSers about the 4FRNT Switchblade, I'd personally steer clear of them. Definitely don't want to go through a pair in less than one season.
